Best way for butter?

Today was harvest day. First time growing. I wanted to make butter out of the trimmings. Is it cool to use fresh stuff? Should I dry it and cure it like bud first? Any suggestions?

Do some both ways to satiate your lust for knowledge. both ways are supreme I assure you.
Personally I dont like the taste of hay so I extract from my bud before I infuse with butter/oil/etc. and use the oil
rather than the vegetable material, or dry sift and use those results. I dont enjoy the taste of weed in my edibles but you may. try both ways if interested.

when I extract using my tamisium(rocks btw!) and se fresh material I find the results to be red often. that may be because of the choice of meds I may prefer too. But there is nothing like a piece of red shatter and with a cold extraction I can keep much of the waxes out for a real treat(on left). But both extractions are superior in my experience. the red(green harvest) will excite your senses faster and more intensely than the golden one, not for everyone, heard it described as pure paranoia by some depending upon usage. going after the red I allow my herb to dry for a couple days to rid some water, use fast extract and cold solvent for the red win.

Cool bro, I never expected an answer like that but I couldn't ask for a better answer than that one. So one more question then. I am a seasoned smoker. Takes me a bit. I never get paranoia or anything like that. So that being said. What's your recommendations for weight to a stick of butter? Also the whole decarb thing. Should I do that or doesn't it do that when I make the butter and bake it?

I decarb my material before making the butter. I think it ups the potency, and I often use the butter without baking..(rice crispy treats, chocolate coatings, etc, and it only takes an hour. I use about an oz of really good trim (sugar leaves and popcorn) per pound of butter.

I think I may go try that. May I ask what temp you use?

just like the weed of yesteryear....very tiring, very much decarboxylated. it often dried in the sun, not much better way to degrade/decarboxylate. If I decarboxylated bud, with long time or heat, it sucks, plain sucks, sucks to eat, cook or make hash with (for me) I found drying normally works for me. I find heating it further before I cook it makes it more intensely tired, couch tired, sleep drool like, if thats what you like then do that.
I found weed harvested too early, fed too much , too long or generally not grown the best will produce more effects when decarb'd though. dried long enough it decarb'd.
. I learned of this when I was young, people harvest and had piles of leaves and popcorn to deal with, so they cooked it and it sucked(of course) so they decarbd it and got "high". I dont like that high.
I discard old weed, I dont store any for more than a couple months. its not better when jarred for months unless it was sucky before. mine is superb 3 weeks drying in a controlled room-not a grow room. the brownies from old weed are ass kickers more than with 3 weeks drying. if asskicking is what you seek?......I like artsy energy, discussion, crafts, chess, so....drooling is out for me. lol

For me it just all depends. For the most part I like not being able to do much. But I do need to get out in the world and get things done....sometimes.
