hey guys love this post. ive been researching making my own cannabis e juice and this was one of the threads i thought was pretty educational. thank you growgoddess for all your input. just a couple things off the top of my head i wanted to point out to be able to provide a little bit more info.

be cautious of anyone trying to sell full cartridges to anywhere in the us. 1 this is against federal law to ship concentrates accross the country. 2 i have seen reviews of buying from some of the people advertising on this thread. i dont know if a direct link to the site is against the rules, but ill send the link via private message or if its ok to post let me know and ill do so

also QWISO is quick wash iso(propyl) and QWET is quick wash et(hanol). you cannot make QWISO with ethanol(everclear/grain) alcohol.

winterizing is normally used exclusively with BHO. when winterizing BHO you are able to remove the plant waxes that do not aid in a concentrate, ie turning wax to an absolute. winterizing QWISO seems counterproductive. the plant waxes are already removed in a good QWISO run and why dilute something made w 99% iso with a 190proof(95% eth). seems to me like youre washing a solidly made product with a solvent that is inferior to what was used to make the concentrate in the first place.

anyway just my 2cents

I don't know if I did it before I posted on this thread or if it was after.

For the first time I made a batch of oil. I am calling it QWISO, I suppose I should be calling it something else though. Regardless, whatever it should be called, I made a batch of oil using 190 proof everclear (grain alcohol). I have to say, it vaporized really good. Actually, was some of the better stuff I have had. I vaped it in an iClear30b. It was great and I was pretty bummed out when it was gone.

I have compared winterizing and I am really liking the ISO extraction. I let it dry without heat, just fans. I don't like the fumes and stink though compared to grain alcohol. Then I will dilute it with 192 proof polish vodka or 190 everclear. I will put that in the freezer for about 3 days then filter it through a paper coffee filter. After filtering I will allow it to purge or dry. It takes a bit longer with the 192 proof or 190 proof alcohol because of the extra water. When it gets super thick I add a little heat so I can suck it up into syringes. Pretty much the way SkunkPharms describes.

Doing one seperate quick wash it is not really worth winterizing in my opinion. Now doing 2 or three quick washes with the same material, it is worth winterizing. Winterizing an ISO oil is best done with 190 proof or higher grain alcohol.

I am really liking the KangerTech AeroTank (pictured right).
Dual coil, bottom fed, no leaking at all. Even better, you can fully adjust the airflow and it draws the air from the outside of the tank unlike most others that draw the air from the battery compartment. Unfortunately with the AeroTank in most cases winterizing is necessary due to the fact that the tank is made of glass. When it comes to e-cannabis, different materials have a strong effect on the taste and harshness. Glass is the most difficult to work with. I wish they made a plastic replacement tank for it.
