Best time to test co2 for my setup

I had added a few co2 bags to a few of my previous grows. I had two given to me by a friend. I haven't really had consistent genetics till now. The same buddy sent me a co2 kit that he didn't need and I would like to see if it will really help my specific setup. I know it is relative to few variables and I have upgraded the lighting, switched to smart pots, and few small things. The kit as is says it gets 2 weeks per charge. I am not willing to invest in co2 if I won't see a return in weight or quality. At which point during the life cycle would be the best period to add co2 to see if I'll have worth while results? Currently I going into week 5 of flowering with one batch and 3rd and 4th week of vegetation with the other. Anyone with experience with something like this and willing to share would be greatly appreciated

Sorry to burst your bubble, but you won't see any kind of results with that product and it will make you think CO2 doesn't work.

CO2 is worthless and a complete waste of money if you aren't dialed in with absolutely everything else. Once you're dialed in, CO2 will give you results for sure. I've had amazing results with CO2, but only after getting things dialed in. Would have been useless when I started as I wouldn't be able to even make use of it.

I'd save those things until you're ready to flip to flower. It takes about a week for the switch to really get going and that's when plants will want the best of what you can give them for their growth spurt.

You'll want to have a bit higher than normal nute levels of everything with some extra P and K tho during the stretch they need a lot of N too. If you have a constant flow of fresh air then the CO2 won't help. The grow space needs to be sealed up with lots of light and higher than normal temps to utilize the CO2 to it's best advantage. I'm doing that now with my grow room.

I'm adding CO2 by way of burning methyl hydrate in a DIY alcohol lamp and have a CO2 controller to let me know when I'm hitting over 1500ppm. Takes about 20 min to get that high and two hours or more to get below 900ppm.

My humidity is the limiting factor for me and once it hits about 70% my fan will kick in so I let things cool down a bit and dry out then fire up the lamp again. Doing this about 3 times a day and the plants really love it. Cool walls and floor start sweating with the extra moisture. Underground concrete bunker.

After the stretch I'll change my nutes to Lucas Formula with some Big Bud until week 5 or 6 then pretty much let them coast to the finish line with nothing but RO water the last couple of weeks. Growing in ProMix HP with AN 3-part, Rhino Skin, Big Bud, Bud Factor X, (got a free 500ml jug to try out), last of some Bud Ignitor, bit of CalMag and some vitamin/mineral supplements that I take myself and are also good for plants. Flowering under a 1000W Super HPS.

Most people have an exhaust fan either running constantly or coming on quite often triggered by a temp controller so CO2 is removed all the time and ineffective. With atmospheric CO2 at 410ppm now there is enough in fresh air to grow healthy plants and CO2 isn't really needed.

Like I said save that stuff for the stretch and try to keep the CO2 locked in to get any benefit.

Good luck!

:peace:
