Best methods for Humbolt Nutrients

whatsup guys i've just been looking around at some nutrient lines and humbolt caught my eye for the fact that its rather cheap... i was thinking on buying some of there supplements/additives because im using fox farms tri pack (BB, GB, & TB) and there bushdoctor lineup and soluble ferts are just way out of my price range. Then i just thought i might try the whole humbolt lineup (grow, micro, bloom) for a future grow. i have some questions though... what strengths should i use when using the lineup? the doses seem rather small. another question i have is on the chart, in some sections they have additives/supplements that do essentially the same thing. for example, they have "big up powder" and "ginormous" under a section what i assume is flowering supplements, do i use both? one or the other? they do the same thing!
also they have products called sea cal & sea mag (calcium & magnesium supplements) and ANOTHER product called equilibrium which is a calcium AND magnesium supplement... guess these guys just like to make things complicated. final question is if you have to water every other feeding. if you guys could give me some tips on how to go upon this lineup.. what i need, what i dont really need, what strengths to use etc.. that'd be great.

I love humboldt nutrients! I am currently using the master a&b line and never tried there 3 part! As for the big up powder and ginomous its simple, the big up powder is only used 3-4 times in flower, once in the first week so that your plant gets a high amount of PK and it helps flip the switch to flower then ginormous in weeks 2-5 for an 8 week strain! Weeks 6 and 7 u use the big up powder again that helps it towards the end of its life cycle an u also wanna use deuce deuce at this time aswell so u get dense nugs, it works awesome! Now me personally, i dont like a cal mag nutrient, i like them seperated so the sea cal and sea mag are awesome cause marijuana doest want both at the same time every week, for instance in week 6 and 7 magnesium helps with the finishin of buds while calcium isnt needed, so why give them both?? Only use whats needed so that why i like it seperated! Its like that threw the whole flowering process! Good luck and enjoy!

oh and also how do you go upon feeding them? right now i am using fox farms line of nutes and its feed 2 times a week every other water.. so say for week 1 whatever the chart calls for i would feed, water, then feed again. is it the same for humboldt? or do you only feed once, water, then on to the next week?

I run Humbolts Gravity with flora nova bloom and had great results. Now they have pulled Gravity WTF!

First lets clarify that your referring to Humboldt's Own and not Humboldts Emerald Triangle Nutrients which are different companies. I run Fox Farm trio Grow Big Tiger bloom Big bloom. I also use cha ching and Bestie Bloomz. I then also run Gravity and Snow Storm during flower and really am impressed with the results especially gravity its a must. I run 2 ml of both per gallon but you need to know your strains and what they can handle so maybe do 1 ml of each if used in combination. I like to top out my ppm at its highest around 1900 ppm as my strains love to feed and can handle to load without burn. I havent used the Humboldt own basic nutrient line as I have tried many others and always come back to Fox Farm as my favorite with best results.

Yeah, because it's illegal to use on plants that you ingest; pesky liver toxicity, if I remember correctly.

Gravity has not been pulled Irish. Its still out. I actually bought 3 quarts yesterday locally and have been buying it for years. not sure who told you that but they are wrong. You can get it at any good hydro store or online anywhere. You can call the manufacture also and get resellers locations. They have just added Crystal Burst not to long ago too.

Incorrect . The only issue was they had to pull some of the old labeled ones and adjust the labeling due to regulations on ingrediant declarations

Yes, Emerald triangle. My bad i should of clarified. I am running crystal burst, Magnum, Snow Storm ultra maxx with Humboldts Tea. and bloombastic. this is my 5 harvest and will be my best effort by far.

I will keep looking around Filthy. I hope they still offer it. the hydro stores around me are all out since relabaling. Hope its the same ingredients and nothing was pulled from it. Gravity is a solid product.

Jump on ebay tons for sale there if you cant find it. I have made gravity a must have for me since it makes flowers rock hard. I am gonna try the crystal burst and I think I will be continuing use of their Honey. I do like their Sae mag and cal mag very nice. I got a free 3 qts of Cannas verde nutes from my local shop to give a few runs and I think I might be either adding a full Humboldts own nutrient run or the canna to my usual fox farm runs as I am very impressed with what I have used of theirs.

Ill take a look and good luck with current/future harvests.

It was a federal crime to distribute any of your buds if you treated them with gravity. The active ingredient was shutting down internal organs in lab rats, and is banned by the FDA for use on crops that are for human consumption. So no, not so solid.

KPmarine can you show me something where this was passed as the manufacture says that is false and it is on the shelves at every hydro store I know and I called my buddy who owns a shop in the midwest and he still gets it from the manufacture and said his latest shipment was last week so what your saying is not matching the real world.

I think I see what your refering to. the state of California no longer is allowing it to be sold in that state only due to California having some different laws but it has not been banned everywhere just by the sate of california for resale. At least thats all I am seeing

The fda specifically says Paclobutrazol is only for use on ornamental crops; if it's advertised as for use on non-ornamentals, it's going against FDA guidelines. The results of the study in rats is here: http://www.epa.gov/iris/subst/0182.htm#refinhal. That actually says in the paper that "Since there are no food uses of PBZ, no maximum residue levels for PBZ have been established for agricultural commodities in the US...". It's not instant death, it may not even kill you, but it seems morally wrong to provide your buds to anyone other than yourself without fair warning; given the fact that it's full toxicity in humans in unknown, and it causes several problems when lab rats were exposed to it.

My apologies, "banned" is the wrong word "not recognized for food use" would be more accurate. California is, if memory serves, the top producer of food crops in the country; and produces a TON of the fruits and nuts that grow on trees. They banned it in this state for a reason; it's long term effects are unknown, but it is a health risk in certain concentrations.
