Once again, you're wrong.

If I were to do side by side 4x4 tents - one with a 4 and one with a 6 - I can guarantee you that the tent with the 6 would produce almost double the number as the 4.

You are seriously high on acid if you think the two lamps perform similar to one another. A 315 will crush a 400, but it still gets lower numbers than a 6.

So yeah, if you were getting the same numbers under a 4 as you were a 6, then yes, you were clearly fucking up on your 600 watt grow.

man youre so closed minded towards a guy whose tried it.. not side by sides bc im not gonna run 1000w but still. my teniques havent changed in over 10 years conditions are usually solid, nutes ive found a specific feeding schedule been running the same 3 cuts for the past almost 5 years. and yet here you are telling me "im wrong" to everything i say. youre not a fucking pro johnny, take you cobs and shove em big guy. youre just a fucking troll whose tryna sell everyone on leds you sound like a fucking Hillary supporter
like we have Hillary vs Trump or some shit you wont let it go im just wrong lol
ok let me please you, despite what ive said im wrong leds are the best thing ever !! no one should buy anythng else ever! they produce more! theyre thousands of dollars but youll see the return in a couple years! promise! happy now geeze off this thread cheers mate

Some may be thousands of dollars I don't know but I build my own 16 cob fixtures to cover a 4x4 area and each one costs me around $500 including drivers. I use low cost Citizen COBs and the cheapest CPU active heatsinks I can find.
Do you have any info on your 4x4 cob setup ? Have you ever tried a lumonous cob? They are $20. Very interested inyour 4x4 cob

I use citizen clu-048 1212's 3500k. I buy CPU heatsinks off of ebay for $20-$30 for a pack of 10. I use thermal adhesive to mount the COBs, no reflectors or holders. Reflectors aren't really needed in a tent and they also absorb some light. With bare COBs the distance between each COB ends up being your desired distance to canopy as well. In my case 12". Everything gets wired in parallel. I did post pics in the diy cob pic thread but I don't have them on my computer anymore..
Nice setup. Good idea with the no reflector, what kinda drivers are you running

Jesus. Remind me to never take a train with the letters RIU on it; fucker is gonna derail every time, guaranteed!

Back to the original thread topic;
Assuming the room is 20x20' square and the ceiling is 8', that gives total floor space of 400 ft².

Assuming unlimited funds, 3-5 Tons of water chilling to handle heat and RH issues. Sealed room. Environmental controller with CO2 control and either a tank or burner.

I'd run a vertical grow system with 24 trellis panels of 24ft² each. Lighting would be somewhere between 18-20kW of LED.

Always fun to play with cost no object grows...

I wanted to get nasty and had the roof clearance, I would do 4 5x5 canopies under 1000W HID each.
The nasty part is fighting your way through a room that stacked.

This would do 6 pounds without CO2, if you get watering, root temps, room temps, humidity, 1 x volume of room in air evacuated every second (under rate fans as you likely won't use smooth round bore ducting.) and ppm levels matched with plant size and light intensity. The easiest way is brute force with airconditioning, humidifying and dehumidifying rigs.

If you want to follow the feeding chart for your preferred nutes (they are all the fucking same, almost).
That is based on 10 plants vegged for 4 weeks under a 1000W in 5x5 or 4x6'

and as far as companies or cities changing to led its only bc of the drop in electricity costs.. not bc theyre better haha they arent growing plants for one... and in my experience the suck when replacing an hps or mh. i worked in a factory and they had hps lights and t5s or whatevr the tube lights coould be t whatever, but honestly i absolutly hated it when they switched bc they may appear brighter they don't work when theyre so high up . i cant even see my parts im inspecting its ridiculous. i have to now use a light which before i didnt
I have to disagree at least with my city. The lighting is far better- you can see further and clearer, it lights up better foot print and without and light spray/leakage into homes or that glare vs HPS they were using, streets are safer as it deters vandalism and other crime. These are things I have noticed myself and not something from a city council pitch.

I probably live in one or if not the cheapest cost of electricity per KWh in the (dare i say?) world. in the summer I have been getting average 3.9 cents/KWh and during winter it may bounce around 4.9-6 cents/KWh. That's residential rate, I have no idea what rate the city mobsters pressure the service provider. So keeping that in mind I don't think that saving on the electric bill was as high priority vs a city that have MUCH higher electricity costs.

The room is 20x20- what would you do in the other 3/4 of it?

Nothing, he already can't really handle that amount of heat.
But you are right, I have been processing so much data today, I did actually multiply the floor space wrong in my head. So, he can have walking space after all.

Post some pics of your previous indoor grows. Just one or two; what you do for a 4x4 or 4x8 you just replicate on a bigger scale.

The JUNGLE BOYS are right... People see and think ohh im just going go grow some pot. Anyhow what strains have you grown.

Lmfao what r u a troll lol I'm not gonna sit here list stupid strains I've gtown and measure ducks never said I was a master grower I grow big bushes with recycled organic living soil and no til sips that's is my shift I don't take pics like tall either. 1 cuz idc I see them everyday lol and 2 it's just not smart even where it is legal something are ment to be left quiet the jungle boys r rite

Match HPS? I SMASH hps. lol. I get double the weight that most guys get from 1000w hps using 750 watts of COB led over a 4x4.
This is what I wanted to hear this right here but how I was gonna spend 2-3k on already built cob fixtures but am now stuck in a rough spot cuz I can get an 8 has set up that has a built fixture to hold them all ballis included bulbs included and extra bulbs with two runs on them included for 950 bucks. Like idk what to do I really am overall in line for cob but it's out my range at the moment like I'm no certain I'll get the weigh I know I'll get the weight with the 8 1000watts tho lol

It's a nice space... Should think about what you can do now and how to build it out later as funds allow.
