ROFL... I will never forget my first hit of the NYCD. It was a bong of all things. I took the hit and my entire system was paralysed. I wanted to cough but didn't have the ability, it was stuck both ways. Explosion of dank grapefruit and fuel flavoured coughs and splutters ensued. Entire day wrecked. I recall going to bed before 21:00 that night. Taught me a lesson that's for sure.

I had smoked Soma's NYCD back in 2001 with him at the cannabis cup it was and still is the best pot I have ever smoked. I bought some seeds there and tried growing it for a few years and never got the same results of course I was just starting out so I was not nearly as good a grower as I am now. Since then I have grown out a few things that were close Headband, Chem 4, Sour Diesel but the NYCD was always a couple notches above. Recently I got Hippy Private Stash from Connoisseur genetics which is NYCD x OG Chem at it is by far the closest in taste to the old school NYCD I had in 2001. And the yield's are much much better.

Yeah she was a beeeeatch to get to yield nicely. I got it jacked in the end. She does best off bonzai mothers, then veg the clones a few weeks. Makes for insane amounts of nodes. And the clones tend to grow in a tight spiral, making huge amounts of bud per square of floor space. I ended up getting 80 grams per clone vegged for 2 weeks in the end once I got her jacked.
I still cry about losing that cut. Was the keeper out of a 10 pack of regular seed. I worked that cut for almost 7 years. Losing her was the biggest dumbass move ever. EVER. EEEVVVVEEERRR. I am the world's biggest idiot.

A few Sour Diesel IBL (Lemon Pledge and Lemon Funk pheno) pics are from a few months back. This Sour D IBL was made by a friend 'Dr. Load'... it's a re-worked version of the over priced Rez seeds.
Soon to fill a room with more Sour Diesel... I have an open pollination planned in the near future

I got a surprise a few months back with a couple 7/8 Sour freebies.
They were from Loud Seeds and I would grow that one again.
It truly reminded me of the NYCD.
Made my eyes bleed.

Just going through my seeds, I have a few diesel cross strains I've accumulated over the years.
Barney's - Red Diesel
Kannabia - BCN Diesel
Humboldt - Desert Diesel
Humboldt - Amhurst Diesel
Think I've had Red Diesel and BCN Diesel going on 4 years now. Always wanted to run BCN Diesel considering the good luck I've had with Kannabia, but always been turned off to the longer flowering times. I've read very little regarding Barney's Red Diesel even after all this time. The Humboldt Seeds strains are relatively new so not much info on those either.

I have that one too I got a few months back from Sea of Seeds. You happen to have any pics or remember much about it like finishing time, yield, structure, etc? Says it is mostly sativa. Couldn't find any info on that one either.

NYCD takes 12 weeks. But it matters none to most that have grown it out. I felt it was worth every day's wait. I've been trying a lot of faster flowering strains, but none of them touch sides with my favourites that all go for 10 weeks and more. With the DB I have got 11 week phenos, but just LOOK nom nom nom
What the longer flowering types of good ganja do with that extra time is to make extra trichs on top of the trichs it already has.

sour diesel used to be everyone's favorite, and when i tried some, i was happy that it didn't have that disgusting "truck stop oil slick" taste i hate so much, though it didn't have the lemon heads candy flavor i hoped for either, but the buzz was nice
onyx by short stuff has the "authentic truck stop" nasty flavor i hate, especially grown under halide, but a super awesome up and sensory buzz that has that cool touchy feely effect i've only found in that and jack's cleaner 2 which is a little stonier, but better tasting and maybe more visual
