Best commercial LED/COB is ?

Had abit of a look around so I have a guide just unsure about volumes per room area ? Your views on the matter and knowledge is appreciated.

Good question but you're going to get many different answers. I'd like to know this as well. But here are a few companies that'll be mentioned in no specific order... Pacific Lighting Concepts, Northern Grow Lights, Tasty Led, Go Green, Optic Led. Id also like to hear from people who've used these panels and their results.

The best pre-built led or the best cob to use in a DIY varies depending on your needs. There are variables that will determine what's best. Some people have height restrictions so they typically buy more cobs and run them at a lower amperage. Make sure you make a purchase based on your needs. There's no point in buying a single or double cob light run at high amperage when you have a 5 foot tall tent etc. If you gave details of your grow room and setup then I'm sure you will get a more detailed answer.

None of those people listed are really any good at commercial growing because they lack size, i'd say best is apache tech AT600, it's large enough to cover about the same area as a 1000w hps. Your best bet is to build your own.

DIY cob leds are the best way to get customized lights for your particular situation..

For the price of an AT600 you can buy multiple bar lights. They were never intended to be single lamp solutions to replace a 1000w bulb, but they were intended to be used together to replace 1000w bulbs.

Be careful who you recommend - the first vendor you mention isn't a site sponsor and was found to not have the industry safety certifications that the vendor was claiming to have.

If safety is one of your concerns, make sure you check the vendors' claims and do your research before you buy.

Flavors supplied with Cree or Bridgelux, in the COB department along with Citi's [I hope], are very nice.

Single die diodes in mono or white flavor still exist too.

Ratings are good.

But with no parameters and only basic inquiries [Dude, we need more info about your growing!!!], best would seem very subjective at the moment.....

PLC? Well to be honest I couldnt give a damn about who is and isnt a site sponsor. Now safety is a concern. But not familiar with that which you are speaking of. So I cant speak about that.

I still have not figured out how to get a AT600 in a 2x4 tent. But a light bar can. More info on what the light will be used for would elliminate one of these or none of these lights.

@kayadude I use Timber Grow Lights and I have their CXB400R light. They will hand-build you one if you want.


By the way...Is Optic still around? I haven't heard a mention of them in almost a year. I was all geared up to buy one of their lights back then....but some weird ownership transition was happening at the time. I assumed the whole thing tanked.

Second light up is not a Cob. SunCloak for the largest yield per 600 watts I've ever seen.

I'd heard the same thing. But I think they'd straightened it out but not 100%sure.

Did you really just recommend an AT2020 over a COB fixture....? Good fixture but no as good as a COB fixture.

The best COB is one that is running the COBS the lowest amperage with many COBS.
Anywhere from .700 - 1400 is reasonable for efficiency. looking for around 900 PPFD in your grow space.
Optic runs the lights too high.
Light Brands: Pacific Light Concepts , Timber, Tasy COB Kits.
DIY is your best option. Talk to some folks around here and look at grows.
