Best 600W metal halide for my Lumatek?

What's up everyone. I'm looking to buy a 600W MH to use for veg with a Lumatek ballast in my 4x4 cabinet. It looks like most 600W MH conversion bulbs only put out about 50,000 lumens. Do you think that'll be enough if I plan to run the MH until about 2 weeks into 12/12?

And, which 600 watt MH conversion bulb would you recommend?

don need a conversion bulb, Usio or venture is what or recommend.

Ushio in your case since it is a digital ballast.

I'm pretty sure the only NON- conversion MH that's available in 600 W is the Digilux (mixed reviews, short lifespan). Please correct me if I'm wrong.

ahh no i think you not right but this would become a design vs. marketing term discussion

they are simply pulse strike halide with the marketing term of "conversion" since they will work in a magnetic hps ballast.(a regular MH will work in a HPS ballast too, but, it will have a shorter life span(small diff.) because the HPS ignitor is constantly trying to "ignite" it.)

Hmm... I see the Digilux "actual" metal halide claims 75,000 lumens, where the Ushio is between 47,000 and 55,000, depending on the exact model. Whatever verbiage we use, one is clearly more efficient than the other. Wish that Digilux got better reviews... 2 out of 3 local shops I called stopped stocking them cause they got tired of handling returns...

Any other recommendations? My local shop is recommending the Sunmaster 600 watt MH conversion bulb. Any thoughts on that one?

Stay away from conversions, go with a 400 mh on the Lumatek dimmed, I recommend the blue Hortilux/Eye bulbs. You can find the Eye branded bulb which is identical to the Hortilux, just packaged differently for acquariums and such at half the price of the Hortilux, the Sunmaster blue MH 400 watt is also a great bulb.
