When I read the title of this thread the first thing that came to mind was, their gonna smell it man, shouldn't run drugs if you plan to blaze.
I don't run, I don't do much of anything, but I once read about runners high.
I guess some people run till they get high just from running.

I've been smoking ganja for 40+ years, I'm 54 this year and still playing soccer, hockey and snow board through the winter, ride my bicycle and do some running between sports seasons. I haven't found it affects me but that's just me. I've gone through years or running, done marathon's, triathlon's and sports throughout my life which probably makes a big difference. I try and vape more often now and when I smoke it's in a pipe typically, small amounts. It's all about genetics I think though, I've had scans/x-rays where the tech was sure I was a non-smoker, lucky genes I guess. Cancer's about genes too, I've lived fairly healthy, eaten well, excersize more than most people and certainly more than most people my age now, stillI got cancer about 5 years ago and it had nothing to do with the smoking, they figure it was triggered by stress and a bacterial infection I got from a fly bite, go figure.
I've been smoking a little bit every other day or so for 5 years now. And I'm getting concerned. I just had a full physical with a clear chest x-ray, and I'm considering only homemade edibles from now on. I love smoking, but I'm concerned about long-term lung damage. After all, we can't subject our lungs to an obvious irritant over the long term without expecting some damage to occur. Whether it shows up on an x-ray or not.

I'm into mountain biking , i do long treks deep in the mountains. I ride with a group that are fucking animals that don't smoke weed and are avid cyclists and I keep up, and sometimes lead the pack, it really depends on me where I am at with cardio at the time of the ride.. Cardio is very cumulative so it needs to be done frequently to be able to do endurance I find.

I do toke organic only, and use raw organic hemp papers. I don't think about it too much and I'm not going to stop cause I believe it is healthy and I have no interest in stopping.

I do own a digital volcano and use it too. I use upper end organic and in fairly small quantities usually about a gram a day more or less, for motivation, mood enhancement mostly.

I 've always been good at endurance, long winded, in cycling, sparring, or any sport that requires it. I've trained intense with weed and trained intense without it . it does make training a little more interesting so in some ways it is performance enhancing imo.

but overall cardio endurance all depends on overall health and fitness and conditioning imo, and how much of an athlete a person is off weed versus how much of an athlete they are with it, is an interesting question, good topic.

Smoking helps me run.....or do any physical activity as long as I smoke and immediately start my run or work out.If I wait then I get lazy.I live in Az and there are a lot of mountains around us so I hit up trails or just do some laps around the park.I think it depends on each individual and how they respond to cannabis though because I've had several work out partners and I have noticed most have a negative effect when smoking.

I experienced it several times in basic training and after. A joggers high is real. Its a release of endorphins.

You have to run til you hurt then push through it.

I try to run at least 3 times a week, somewhere around 4 miles each time. I usually drink my coffee, toke something leaning on the sativa side and head out the door trying to ride that caffeine and thc through the run. If I wait too long before heading out, I can talk myself out of a run. I'll try and find it, but there was a study on long term pot smoking recently that basically said it's alright and maybe even offered protection for people that smoke cigs. Having said that, I have been vaping more and more. Been smoking steady for just under 20 years. No dabs tho. Or tobacco.

Not sure if i'm too late to add to this but during during my college years to late 20s i used to be a very dedicated, competitive martial artist. During the time i trained BJJ and competed, i met many serious BJJ practitioners that smoker herb. As a matter of fact I have personally smoked herb with a multiple time BJJ world champion/ multiple time Abu dabi winner who is considered a legened in the BJJ world. (he will remain nameless)

We also frequently hear of other professional athletes frequently getting caught with possession of marijuana, IE lavion bell, both Diaz Brothers have medical marijuana cards and admit they smoke frequently, mayweather i believe, Hell Ricky Williams was known for being a Huge stoner and preformed at a very high level while he was a running back in the NFL.

My guess is as long as you keep it within moderation and do what you can to minimize the carcinogens you inhale (vaporize) that the effects on your health and athletic ability are fairly minimal.

I'm just wondering how many runners there are on here that smoke often and would like to get some feedback, ideas, opinions and stories from others who like to do both running and smoking and thoughts on how it's going for them lol
Im 39 been smoking pretty much everyday for almost 6 years... i run all year and train for at least one half marathon at the end of the year... plenty of 5k's... cannabis and running serve similar purposes for me.... like meditation

Love a bowl after a workout or run. I find it makes me want to stretch more than I usually would. And definitely helps with the aches and pains post exercise. Been for a couple of runs high also. Great for getting out in nature.

I like to run and smoke. In fact I usually burn a bit before I go out for a run.

I've never noticed any diminished lung capacity. Even when I was smoking so much I would cough up black mucus I never had a problem with lung capacity. Then again I'm young so that may change as I age.

I have a buddy whose probably been smoking for thirty years plus. One of the fittest dudes I know. If you keep your body in shape a little smoke can't do all that much damage.
