Hi all and thank you in advance for taking the time to read and share your experience.
I am growing in a 1.2x1.2m tent with a 600w MH/HPS with a cooling glass tube and wings. I am looking into raising the wattage to close to a 1000 while adding an LED. I have done enough research on the subject and decided to go with Optics over Amares SE350+UV. My only concern is how discrete shipping is. Can anybody share with us how his/her optic LED arrives? Was it in the original factory box or was it the original box placed inside another shipping box? Does the original box have pics of buds orMJ plants or mention growing and flowers and buds etc? Basically I need to know if the box will trigger any suspicion when the light is delivered to me internationally!
Thanks again everybody

I purchased my optic back in March. At that time the packaging was very diy and not very engineered looking. Certainly not identifiable as a grow light.

You could call or email optic with your concern. They are customer service oriented in my experience.

Best of luck with your new gear.
Thanks brother. I believe i did try to email them a couple weeks back and no replies yet. I will try emailing them again. Thanks again dude ;-)

Someone posted recently that Optic Lighting has been sold -- IIRC somewhere in that thread was mention that production and CS should not be interrupted, but there can be hiccups in a hand-off.
Hey thanks man .... yeah I thoughr I read that somewhere on their site recently. But when I went to check it today I didnt find it. I emailed them. I hope to hear from them soon. In the mean time maybe someone who's purchased and received one recently share some info. ... thanks bro ;-)

Anyone have experience with the optic 500 watt vero 29?
Whats up bro .... im an LED noob .... I dont have any experience with LEDs and this is my first. But I did read somewhere that with optic vero using Bridgelux chips, it would be better to go with the optic CXB3590 because it has the cxb cree chips that are supposed to be better than the bridgelux. Also if you compare their specs, you'll notice that although the vero gives you more lumens, the CXB3590 give you significantly more PAR.

Yea, I am also a noob. I went ahead and pulled the trigger with the vero 29 500. Im on a pretty tight budget and it was a little cheaper. Hopefully it will still provide good results. Thanks for the reply.
Its still a great investment ..... I went with the 350w be ause i wanted to use it to supplement a 600w HPS in a 4x4. 500w would have been more heat than id want to deal with especially that we cant really dim these. But my next investment would probably be a DIY ..... it should be much much cheaper with tue added ability to dim it. Anyway good luck brother and please let us know when ya get yoir light .... I'd liie to hear about yoir experience with it ... happy growing brother

Bonjour
Are you in US or EU?
Since you already have the 600hps and think of diy...why don't you save time and money by starting directly with cxb 3590? Or vero29 but at lower Amps?...cheaper but better!
Have a great day ★

Thanks for chiming in brother.
I wanted to have both HID and LED in the same tent to get the benefits of both as im still not 100% sold on the current LED technology. Its almost there .... which is why i want to slowly make the transition.
500w + 600w (slightly more actual draw) + fans + pumps might be pushing the limits with my current wiring. I also chose the 350w over the 500 for heat control reasons. With my current set up, my heat control is where I want it. So 350w might be easier to adjust to and dial in than the 500w, especially that im making the transition when I flip. I want to reduce the chance of problems or even significant variation to my experience during such a critical time. So with all those factors AND cost, I thought the 350 as an addition to 600w HID in a 4x4 might be my best option.
Dont get me wrong brother, I actually had to resist going for the best Optics light, the CXB3590.
I read a lot of theeads comparing the two different technologies. And the conclusion I got was, if im raising my wattage to close to 1000w but not more, why not try add the advantages ya read about the LED to your groom!
I hooe im not ranting on and on. Mixing Liberty haze and pineapple express would do that to ya hahaha

I am sorry I might have misunderstood you. If you mean to go the diy route now and construct something with the 3590 chips to get a cheaper and more efficient system, id say that would be the best route to go. However, with my super busy schedule, I wouldnt be able to get the project done in time before the switch to 12/12. .... thanks again bro

Should have bought the 500watt to flower your 4x4 and drop the 600hps.
360watt optic is a 600HPS replacement and the 500watt is a 750HPS replacement.

Thanks brother. I have thought about that a lot. But I still wasnt sure I want to drop the HID completely yet. I wanted to keep the HID (which is also a new setup i purchased and havent used it too much) while increasing the wattage. So I figured Ill mix it with LED. Slow transition to possibly all LED one day!

Do you have the 500 watt? I just ordered one of the vero 29 and can't really find any info on the performance. But I hear they are pretty good.
Yes. keep it 20 to 24 inches above the canopy. I am using it in a 3ft6 x 4ft area. Oct1st I am gonna start documenting a grow with it Vero18 and Vero29 grow thread.
120watt vero29s and CXB3590s will burn your plants if u get under 18inches with those lenses on.
