Before flowering?

My question is simple I am wondering how many of you cut some of the bottem leaves off before you start flowering. Some people do and some don't kind of wondering on the results people have seen. Also how far up the plant should i cut these leaves off?

Different growers do different things. That said, I don't cut any leaves off before flowering. I see no need. When they're dead or dying, or if they're blocking bud sites, then I'll remove them. Usually I'll just let dead leaves fall off on their own. I want my plants to suck up every bit energy from their leaves as possible. Overzealous pruning can stress your plant and affect yield.

What i herd was that if you cut some of the bottem fan leaves off it will boost your plants growth and increase its height because it won't worry about keeping those lower fan leaves alive.

Like I said, to each his own. I'll keep doing what I'm doing just the same. Good luck to you.

i cut mine, i dont know about height or what ever but its a personal thing really, and i personaly think it helps the plant worrie more about top cola production rather than lower popcorn bud production.

NEVER remove fan leaves, whats the point ?
they will fall off naturally, clip the bottom buds after a couple of weeks, to ensure more growth upstairs. Fan leaves will yellow and fall off on theyre own.
For more light to bud sites, just fold under the bud

There is an overwhelming amout of information on this site, almost enough to give one analysis to paralysis. I have read fan leaves are the photosynthesis factory of the plant, seems reasonable to me, it would explain their size. When they reach the end of their usefullness to the plant, they will fall off. I'm at the fifth node of growth and the first set of fan leaves are on their way off. I try to let the plant take care of itself as much as possible.
