My current rig is the perfect height to just set my torch next to and let it heat while I get a dab ready.
what i hate about the ti nil i used is that it was small and domed. you have to have 2 people or 3 hands to do it all without having to over think it. mind tossing up a pic of the rig or a link to what you use?

Highly Educated Infiniti nail, whatever is at hand for a dabber :)
I like this. it seems like it would hold a LOT of heat. no dome makes it simple too.

Heres the rig I'm currently using. Its typically just me and my wife or me and one friend using it, so I don't mind the dome to much. I've thought about getting a domeless, just havn't gotten around to spending the money.

It works out well the nail sits at just the same height as my torch does. I can turn the torch on while I get a dab ready, and its hot by the time I'm done :).

you using butane? im sketch on Ti because i dont wanna be breathing TiO. I know butane is barely hot enough, but im never sure where to draw the line before it starts giving it off. I like my lungs. :)

I use a butane torch yeah. It will get it glowing orange hot, but i never heat it that much. I personally try to get just a light glow to it, and then take my time putting the dome on. I find that lower temp dabs seem to have more flavors. Also with the water filtration I'm not really worried about inhaling metal.

TiO acts like ash from what i understand. some will make it through unless its ran through a particulate filter. Still if its at a light glow and working its not even getting hot enough to matter. Just never had a thermometer to check it when im dabbing out. I've only done this other places, i use my vape at home for my qwiso but have wanted to get into this. Thanks for the info. Guess ill have to add a nail to my extraction setup list and hope the wife doesn't notice! :bigjoint:

I love the way a nail rig hits. Its fast, and solid if that makes any sense. That whole rig cost $100 and the guy threw in the nail. The first one I got was an add on for my bong, and it was only like $50 with a glass nail. The glass nail lasted us like 2 months and only cost me $5 to replace when I did. I've been thinking about ordering one of these, the price seems pretty good, and I thought the quartz might work well. http://www.borroglassstudio.com.usrfiles.com/html/ef173b_e57ad143bbe1147c22e0fb603df0525c.html#!/~/category/id=8905086&offset=0&sort=priceDesc.

Spent today with a sledgehammer and a crowbar helping a friend demolish two rooms he's gutting and turning into a grow setup. It was formerly a really badly designed recording studio (they knew they needed to do something to isolate the sound booth, but had no idea how to properly do it (layers of foamboard, insulation, and particle board surrounding a glass patio door that was the window into the booth). It was the hardest day's work I've done since we moved two years ago I think. I'm too old for this shit.

I hurt less than I expected given my inattention to the gym for the last 10 months. :)

So I just finished doing another run of Cotton Candy shatter, and got good pics this time. I'm going to work on getting it all formatted and then I'll post a step-by-step. Here's 2g of the finished product.

Nicely done! Looks real shattery ;)

Looks very lovely!

Though it's hard work demoing stuff can be great therapy. I've a always enjoyed getting to smash out some walls!

Just scanned through most of this journal. Awesome job on the LSD!. Think I'll give it a try. And say...I saw in one of the pics that you're using a Solar Storm LED, probably the 440?? How do you like it? I just bought one and plane to use it on my next grow. Anything you can tell me about it would be appreciated...

I had the big Solarstorm 800. It is now at a friends' in his flower chamber. It is a huge, heavy light that puts out way more heat than my Blackstar 900s. I never used it for anything but veg. It worked well as a light, but was too hot for the tent I was using at the time.
