Basic DWC Questions

Hey gents, i'm just trying to figure out a couple last details before i start my first grow, so i'm hoping you guys can be of help.

1. I'm going to grow 2 different strains at a time with 8 plants total under 2x1000watt lights, but i don't know if it'd be better to run one Recirculating system for all of these plants, or to split it up and keep each strain in a separate recirculating system. What are the big factors that come into play here?

2. In the northwest, we have some pretty clean water, so i'm unsure if i need to use RO water or not? Is RO water a must for DWC growers and how big of difference does it really make?

Thanks in advance for your help, gents.

depends on the two trains your growing, you can run into issues as each strain can handle different levels of nutrients, for example some can take up to 1000 ppm while others with show nute burn if takin that high. I would do two seperate recirculating systems for best results. RO is not always needed the only way to tell if you need it or not is test the ppm's and ph of your tap water. If its not something outrageous you can use that in your dwc without issues. RO just allows you to start with a clean slate of water with no other solvents

I would recommend separate if you are running two different strain due to the fact that different strain likes different amount of nutes. You could make it work but you will have to adjust your nutes to the most sensitive strain and thus not maximizing your grow for the more hungry strain. I have ran two different strain and did not like it. If I had no choice and had to run two different strain than I would make sure that they were both either indica or sativa.

I don't use RO and my PPM is less than a 100. I wouldn't say that it's a must. I think for me atleast, Heisenberg tea is a must.

Insert newb question here: What is Heisenberg tea? I see it mentioned quite often on these forums...
