Barney's/Additude seed ripoff

Well I though after 2 years of busness this would never happen to me....

Up till now Additude has stood behind the seed growers....not so

I have sprouted 30 seeds 15 at a time of the Acapulco Gold seeds and have had nothing but mutated leaves on all plants from both orders.

I have been growing now for over 35 years so ther isn't much I haven't seen. That includes the owner/grower for 3 of my own nurseys

Heres what is going on...Additude does not guarantee there seeds for germanation or not sending mutated seed....

So it's now been a few months of growing out this strand for nothing the plants are weak and mutated!

Good Old Barney's seed does not supply a email address and if you call them they have a answering mechine in Dutch!

I know I am not a big costumer but I do spend $600 to $1000 dollars a year with Additude for seeds...NO MORE :evil:

Attitude seems way too expensive compared to Sannies.

There are so many bad reviews on the net about Barney's Seeds. I have a friend who has had the same problem and never received satisfaction after countless phone calls and email attempts. All you can do is spread the word that Barney's products are just plain BAD. Live & Learn an TELL about your experiences on blogs like these. Good Luck my friend!!! Always remember that bad news spreads faster than good news. It's you obligation to warn other growers out there about RIPOFF EXPERIENCES! Go get em tiger!

to OP:

you cant blame attitude for barneys gear, attitude is nothing more than a middleman between u and the breeder as attitude does not breed. if u contact attitude remember they sell those as souvenirs not to be germ'd, so if your email was talking about plants that you germ'd, they would obviously ignore it, as responding would be an admission by them of having knowledge of what you're doing with them. try to re-word your email in such a way that doesn't include such forbidden words, and you'll get a reply i'm sure ;)

you see, this in itself is the problem with attitude, they are middlemen and that's always their excuse.i if you bought a car from a dealer and it was a lemon, who would you take it back to? Attitude has had problems getting orders correct since their b'day promo. When you don't get what you ordered sometimes they tell you 'we'll ad it to your next order'. Ha ha hardly and never again. Stick with good banks like 'sannies'

buying a car is legal and buying seeds is not legal for many people. cant compare these 2 at all.

have always had good luck with the tude.

Just remimber there are 17 states where you can grow... the true problem with using additude is they are not responsable for the quality, genetic background and anything to do with sprouting the seeds. The middleman is a cop out , I got burned 3 times by Barney's farm and additude did nothing.:eyesmoke:

I am using Navaria they stand behind there product and they have great Genetics....

attitude cant do anything, you should have known that before ordering. barneys farm has a documented rep for seeds not germing...all you can do is learn from your mistakes.

I bought a Tangerine Dream single and it didn't germ, although seeds from others done at the same time did. I've been doing this since 1985, so it wasn't me.
As I recall now, the seed was cracked when I got it. Upon soaking it looked like it had opened really fast, but it was the inside showing white as it got wet. Never germed, of course.

agreed completely i used attitudefor the birthday promo ordered 5 barneys tangerine dream and rec'd the ten freebies, of the fifteen seeds all sprouted, only two plants remain....1 tangerine dream and the critical + by dinafem or dna. all the other seedling experienced seedling die-off. once they broke soil the straightened up and the next day were shriveled and dry. and the soil was moist temps in the low80's avg humidity. i had the same thing happen with 2 white widow seeds from nirvana that were almost 8 months old and they still replaced them for me no problems. Nirvana will get my $$$ from here on out.

I got a variety of different gear for the mix and had problems with die-off. I had a few different people try and all the same results.

* okay, first of all, attitude is not the seed breeder, they are the delivery boy!!! ---You ordered barney seeds? then go write your complaint to Barneys Seeds, AND stop blaming the guys that DELIVER the seeds to you (which is NO easy task, but hey, its way easier to complain :) )

* Attitude DOES not guarantee the seeds you get,, BEACAUSE THEY DID NOT MAKE THEM.. Capiche' ? --cheers

somewhat agree with you but, for the big operation the tude is, they will usually make it up to you and they will contact the breeder themelves and tell them the problem. unfortunatley they want to make it up on the next order.

the breeders have no idea what happens to the seeds once they leave the farm. those packs see alot of hands before they see yours and anyone could have pulled a switch. in this case you need to use the chain of command and make your complaint with the place of purchase.

the distributor will also want to know of problems and if it continues, they will stop stocking the product. the main thing is to not talk about growing them or germing them. so its hard to tell them they were not viable seeds.

i have had good and bad luck with barneys farm and not buying anymore.

Also don't forget about potential irradiation.

This is good to know. I had planned on ordering from attitude and am pretty sure the strains I want but saw this one crop up on the specials banners and it had a great description I came here to search for it. Glad I did. Thanks for the heads up RIU. I'll still be ordering from 'tude but just not from this guy. LOL

It never occured to you that maybe Barney's farm gear is just bammer? The other stuff I've grown from them is what is supposed to be.
