Back in the game w/LED

Hey everyone. I'm getting ready to start up my second grow. I'm coming off a successful rookie grow that I couldn't have got through without everyone here's help. I was lucky enough to get my hands on a nice 1000w hid light last time but I've since moved. This time I'm going with an led set up in a large closet. Temps are a major factor since I won't have much too keep the closet cooled.

So I guess I'm wondering if I need anything special for a closet grow. I'm going to start with just 2 plants. Do they get enough air in a closet? I can put a small fan in there and open the door to check on them. Is this enough?

Also is it worth throwing my T5s in with the led? Or does that stress the plants.

I'm going to try and do a journal for this one, just need you all to help me out through it.

Keep calm and grow! Pic is from my first grow

Define 'large closet' l x w x h

Also look at my thread multispectrum or mini-me to get a handle on which leds

48 x 76 x 100. Do the grow tents help a lot? I'm not against getting one. I just don't want to get deep into filtering and stuff like that

I made a frame from wood and have used it covered with windshield reflector but now tents are cheap. The Milliards are $125 50 x 50 x 76

I'd be concerned with co2 levels not have fans for exhaust and at least passive intakes to move fresh air in constantly.

For veg the door open would probably work (but you also leave the opportunity to let bugs and such into your space). For flowering this will cause some issues during your dark period.

I wouldn't personally run any light, even LED without a solid way to get the heat out and fresh air in. You can buy a 4"in line fan filter combo for 150 dollars

What type of.LED are you getting? I would use t5's as side lighting to hit up the underside of the canopy. I have a 2×4 mounted on the inside of my door hanging vertically, and rotate the plants every second day. They love it.

I've got a 240w dorm grow. G8-240 I think is the model #. I have a few nice t5 set ups. Then when it's time to flower I was gonna buy a red UFO led.

Thinking I may get a nice silver tarp for the floor, get some reflection. Led hanging up top. And I'll toss a t5 in for side lighting. Should be good for my 2 plants. Once I see how they do and gauge the smell I may go up to 3 plants next time. If I need another led I can get one.

I put the seeds in paper towel last night. I have 1 grapefruit and 1 platinum OG.

I agree, the key to growing is proper intake and outtake. Opening a closet door occasionally will not accomplish proper ventilation, and heat dissipation. Even Led's will raise temps! Even, without a carbon filter, you will need an inline fan and some ducting to direct warm air out of the closet. The exhaust air may as well be scrubbed of odor via a carbon cannister. You need a 4" fan Carbon filter combo as someone else stated. 2 plants will stink that small area up to holy hell when in bloom. You should invest in a small tent, and 4" fan and carbon filter, and put it in your closet.

No just buy a 4" inline fan and carbon scrubber combo. The fan will pull the fresh air into the tent, through the carbon, and exhaust it out of the tent via ducting. That creates a passive intake, no need for two fans.

I see. just googled passive intake and I get it now. seems easy enough. so I put the tent into the closet. leave the closet door open, run intake duct from outside the closet to the tent. and exhaust the filter/fan combo out into the closet? would that work?

so theres what I have so far. I have the 4" inline fan that I am having trouble installing, its a bit heavy. any ideas?
that LED light is crazy bright with all the reflection going on. im going to need shades while working in there. I will get all the cords coming out a side hole tomorrow. beans go from papertowel to dirt tomorrow.
I feel like I got a nice set up, what does everyone think? any pointers? any help on that fan would be great too

Mount it outside of the tent. have the ducting come from the tent to say the top of the closet, and put the fan on the top shelf.. With sound damping

so are you liking the dorm grow led's? i'm thinking of getting some for my 4x4 closet grow, 2 240's and a 90 red, are they worth the money, they seem like a good price?
