Baby Help Please

Hello, this is my first grow and I have a question about my baby.

I'm growing this plant from seed in Miracle Grow Patio (I believe). As it was my first time, I left the plant too far from my CFL's in the beginning and 5 days ago moved the CFL's to within 2" of the leaves. Lights are on 24 hours a day.

After doing this, it seems the soil has been getting dry much, much quicker, so I have been watering everyday ~1 P.M.

Just recently, the leaves have started to curl down on the ends.
Before this happened, the leaves started to "twist" at about the middle.

I could not tell if this was from the leaves trying to get as much light as possible or if I am doing something wrong.

Sorry for no pictures, I will try to get some.

Thank You,
Wutang Financial

first off transplant your plant from the mirecle grow crap..thats the stuff with the time released nutes in it an it sucks...how hot is the light you may be cookin your leafs...

Lights are warm to the touch. I don't think it would be possible for the heat to really get to the plants because of how the lights feel and the distance the heat would travel. But I may be wrong since I am new to this.

i could be the soil that is a def a possability i started out in miracle grow with time released nutes and had nothing but trouble i.e. burning, stunted growth etc. transplanting might be the way to go but you have to make sure thats the problem first cuz you dont want to transplant if not necessary but id say get them out of that soil eventually anyway

So would you guys rule out that this is not an issue due to watering? Or could this still be a possibility.

As the soil is also a possibility, which soils have you guys had good success with?

Thanks

Thing also about the miracle grow soil is its mostly suited to Hanging baskets and which the soil retains moisture so its not good for weed, as well as the other guys are saying it has time release Nutrients in it. Bad soil to start with. Get new soil. I actually use John Innes compost, ive had not soil problems what so ever, so ill stick to it.

Another thing, dont get the soil which is like 99p for abig bag cos its not very good grade soil. Spend the extra £2-3 pounds for the good stuff. easy mistake to get miracle grow as u think its prety reputable soil. Shame that

Your problems probaly due do the slow release nutrients in the soil. CHANGE IT

hope this helps you ;)
