AZ Cannabis Legalization? Decriminalization? What are your thoughts?

Two different House Bills authored by Mark A. Cardenas. Do they stand a chance?

Neither is likely to pass. Prop 203 passed by the narrowest of margins, and the state has done nothing but try to shut down medical cannabis despite the will of the people.

None of which means you shouldn't call your representative, remind them you are a registered, voting consituent, and politely ask them to vote in favor of the bills.

YThor is right, prop 203 is a scam in az. its not like any other mmj state. nobody has grow rights and they have it set up so only these crooked fucks with ties get the rights to open up shops. all they do is sell over priced shit. ill always get my stuff from private growers who actually care about their customers.

I have to agree and disagree with you Vro. I live in the stix and the dispensaries around me are utter garbage.

However when I get to Phoenix, I go to the Greencross, 280$ ounces, and the stuff is actual quality.

I am ready for it......this medical bull was a massive failure for the people.No grow rights has ruined everything I hoped for.Now this bill would allow for 1 ounce possession and 5 plant limit,way better that what we have now.

There doesn't seem to be much organization in AZ. Probably more luck as an initiative where people just show up and vote instead of expecting them to call representatives, attend rallies, etc.

I can see politicians preferring the control of writing legislation instead of having a voter initiative forced on them. But, they won't feel motivated to do that without an organized movement. I don't see that kind of organization in AZ.

To me it doesn't matter much. It's easy to grow a plant or two. Medical legalization has eased the impact of odors. There's a presumption now that odors emit from legal cardholder activities. Two years ago odors could only emit from illegal use.

I think what will pressure the legislature will be CA legalizing recreational. Between that and Colorado, I don't think AZ politicians can leave the potential for tax profits on the table.
