2.4x1.2x2.0 metre tent 1200 watt hps lights and everything else needed,I am a total newbie but been reading up on growing for over a year. Was thinking of sticking 8 auto anubis plants in my tent in 7 gallon pots using biobizz light mix and biobizz nutrients and adding gradually as it begins to blosom. Can someone tell me if this is OK or if I will need larger/smaller pots less plants/more plants etc any info would be appreciated. Thanks

I read on another topic on this forum that it may just be the dominant genetics are the regular 12/12 needs and you might have to put them on that schedule to force flowering. Good luck

Autoflowers under 12/12?
I wouldn't go 12/12 unless something is wrong. Some strains have been known not to autoflower. I've never seen it tho.

If I could say anything about your plan, is those 7g pots sound a bit large to me for autos. I wouldn't rush it, but I would bet you can fit more plants too with that space.

I'm not familiar with the strain so it's always best to dig expected size and things up b4 u start. That's a nice little advantage to autos.

Thanks mate. Heard the strain can grow to 100cm indoors. So you think more plants in 5 gallon pots? Ive heard people getting good results in 5 gallon. Is there a strain you recommend? I only thinking anubis from paradise seeds because it is idiot proof to grow apparently

Autos are not idiot proof........small room for error in reality.

Good luck grower

I would stick to no more than 5 gallon pots indoors . Since Autos gave a LIMITED veg stage , the plant will push into flowering quickly without creating a very large root mass as regular photo seeds. I popped a Super Skunk up to week10 (actually day 73 ) and overall root mass only took up about half the pot size. So now I add FF Chunky perlite at bottom , super soil mix ( middle ) , then FF original mix ( top 3" ) . I was wasting medium the other way, since only root Mass bulk was at half a pot container. When using FFOF ONLY , then I use 3 gallon pots. And have never hit ROOTBOUND issues so far. You can run either of these sizes .

I agree
Dont run autos
In your tent with 1200watts for 20 hours heat will be an issue.
Not trying to start a war with the auto fans but i dont think the harvest from your 5-6 autos will justify the work and cost.
You would be better off with an easy to grow indica strain (photo)

Depends on what you consider ideal ;-)..........any Fuck ups in that short auto veg window will hamper flower production....

Stick with photos IMO[/QUOTE
Was originally going to do photos but want a quick smoke

True mate I never though about all that extra heat with the extra hours lighting. How many photos and what size pots u recommend?

Depends on how long you plan to veg them. How much you hope to yield per plant.
Personally i would shoot for 6-8
In 3-5 gallon pots with atleast a month-2months of veg.
You should pull 2zips per plus depending what strain you pick.
