Call me crazy, but I'm gonna stick with with the stuff that has been selectively inbred for it's recessive drug traits for thousands of years.
All the contemporary autoflowers have been heavily hybridized with the drug strains you mention. Some of these are literally 80+ generations removed from pure ruderalis plants to the point where the ONLY thing they share with ruderalis (apart from genetics shared by ALL cannabis plants) is the ruderalis derived autoflowering trait.

Anyway, I don't really need to convince you. Autos aren't for everyone, and if you see no advantage, there probably isn't one for you.

IMO the main advantage of autos is that these will flower under any light regimen.

Want to plant outdoors in March then harvest in June? You can do that with autos.
Want to plant outdoors in March, April, May, and June, then harvest in June, July, Aug, and Sept? Again, you can do that with autos.
Want to use up extra "slots" in your veg/clone area and flower plants there? Autos.
Want to grow a plant in a small pot on your deck or windowsill where its subject to light pollution? Autos.

Thank you for the information. I have read many of your posts and you are very knowledgeable. Way more so than I when it comes genetics and breeding. Probably in every category. I do understand that reputable companies have worked hard to weed out (yes, that's a pun) all of the undesirable traits that ruderalis brings to the table, and selectively back-cross only for drug cultivars AND auto-flowering traits. I guess if I needed any of those things you mentioned then, perhaps, I would be more amenable to working with auto-flowering strains. I've always made it a point to not get stuck in a rut, to always be open to new ideas, and to never stop learning. I guess the bottom line is that I've always felt that growing auto-flowering strains was a lazy short-cut to doing the hard work it takes to be a well rounded grower. I guess I've just been blessed with the space, time, and equipment to not have needed them before.
Btw, I'm completely tuned in to your WiWo grow. I've always coveted that strain and have been eyeing those Sickmeds seeds for awhile now. Thanks!

think of it this way you could have 2 tents veg 4 photo's in both tents with 4 auto's on 24/0 then when the auto's are done flip one tent to 12/12 then start the other tent on veg you would be pulling 4 harvests in the same amount of time as 2

That's the idea, though a lot of so called "breeders" are lazy, and many of the autoflowering strains out there aren't that good.
I think if have reasonable expectations, and are selective about what you grow, you can do well with these.

FWIW, I don't grow autos, but I do recognize their advantages.
Again, they're not for everyone, but they can be helpful for certain growers under certain conditions.

Lol.... auto flowers are indeed notorious for being low potency...probly cause the first lowryder...I could care less if they all are or not, I don't care if they've changed and got better in recent years(understand the definition of notorious ,"generally known and talked of ; especially : widely and unfavorably known"an upheld belief that's negative, it does not have to still be true or always true)...fact is they are still notorious for being low potency, maybe that will change as people keep growing em out.......but until then, it just looks like someone knocked auto flowers in that sub section and its pretty funny to see your reaction....

then why are you coming into the auto forums just to slate them ? and to be honest you just sound like a massive dick.

I was explaining why the previous poster said what he said. ... because they are notorious for being low potency....
He was saying that the small percentage of ruderalis in the tree is the reason for lack of trichs....

So the follow up statement of "We've already established it's and 'auto'." Demonstrated a lack of understanding

I did not say I believed them to be low potency I said that they were notorious for it..it is widely believed... think before you speak

I never said anything bad about them.......I was explaining why he said what he said. ...in many ways its true
