Auto Call From Dept. Of Health for Phone Interview after sending in application?

Hi everybody. I sent in my paperwork last week. Dr. signed, ready to go alone with my check and caregiver fees. They signed for my application on Friday. Yesterday I received an automatic call from the RI. Dept of Health and Human Services saying they wanted to confirm my phone interview scheduled for Tuesday.

Nobody called me to schedule an interview, and there is nothing written on the applications or in the law about these phone interviews. I am not sure what this means or why they are interviewing me?

Wtf, thats wierd. Make sure to post about what happened! Call them also an ask what the interview is about. I dont think someone want you releasing personal information on health status over the phone to someone you dont know.

Yeah I asked a few people I know with cards about it and they said that there was no interview they had to go through, so I am really curious about it, and I refuse to discuss my medical condition with some clerk from the State. I am wondering if it was in regards to something else. A friend of mine is in the process of adopting a kid in DHS, She used me as a reference. I am betting it's just bad timing and I am being worried over nothing. Keeping my fingers crossed it's about the adoption!

Strange, I just got my card last week and didn't have a phone interview. Be aware it did take 2 months so if you're anticipating the 4-6 week response it'll be delayed.

WOW! 2 months is completely ridiculous. Once you received the notice to go in for a photo, did they give you the card the same day? I really need to try some of the candies they sell in Providence to see if it helps.

yep went in the day after i got my letter and got my card that day. pay attention though they just took my picture without a heads up or anything my picture looks like a mugshot.

It sounds about right. They think they are so entitled, like they are doing us favors, when in reality they are abiding by the law and are getting paid to do it.

Just wanted to update. The appointment time has come and passed. Nobody called me, and nobody has called to reschedule. Very strange. I guess now I am stuck in the waiting game, and at this rate, if it does take 2 months, I am looking at closer to the end of the year before I can try to see if this helps me.

the Feds got just what they wanted when they threatened prosecution ( a scaled-back dispensary)
3 dispensary @ 99 plants each. how will that serve the state and at what prices. it is not possible to succeed in RI as a medicine like this. it is more like a novelty. patienta go without meds on a daily basis because or system does not cover it as insurance. thats why the Feds will never legalize it or they'd have to pay for it through medicare & insurance.

This is a beginning step for them. Yes they only have 3 dispensaries with 99 plants each, but they also allow the dispensaries to buy from local growers. It seems to be working so far, and as more and more people get approved for the cards, demand will be met with supply.

Ehh i wouldnt say more cardholder = more supply... the regulations arent much of an issue when it comes to supplying a dispensary, its that dispensary will not negotiate a good price and IMO they are not really putting much effort into actually getting the meds. A small dispensary that buys at reasonable price and is willing to put alittle work into making relationships with cardholders who are supplying them will aboslutly kill the it. Little overhead costs and procure meds and reselling alone will pay bills. Then after patients and cardholder relationships are there you start growing your own meds with an good setup cause you can actually afford your bills before spending couple million dollars and being in debt ONTOP of bills...

Seems to be they are content where they stand. Selling 3.5 grams or less at high prices and sitting on the meds in stock to make most of it. There is plenty of extra meds these guys could bring in but they are just being flat out greedy and lazy IMO again. Should take in meds at good price and resell at good price. The market is there to easily sell in quantity rather than little bits.

I agree with the greed, and the laziness. I personally am not going to buy from them as my main route of getting meds. I need to use them to learn about the meds, and experiment to find out which ones are best for me, and to sample the varieties so I know what to grow. I own a farm, have many many private acres and plan on doing a legit setup in my locked greenhouse to supply myself once I am comfortable with the strains I want to try. I have grown before, but I did it for somebody else, and have always been afraid to smoke since I remembered how stoned it got me in my youth. I am hoping to explore the hard candy because I need something that will stimulate me during the day, then I need to try something else that will help my condition so I can sleep at night. I am really looking forward to it. It's my last resort, I have tried absolutely everything.

Ya know, I see you talking a lot of shit about dispensaries. Just curious as to where your business plan was in 2008 if the business model is so simple and you think you know everything?

Just wanted to send a quick update. Never got that weird call. Nada. I also saw that they cashed my check last week for the full amount for myself and my caretaker. Will I still need to wait 2 months from the time they cash that check?? Anyone else experience this?

Thanks

Citizen- my buddy had his check cashed 3 weeks ago! Still hasent recieved the letter but they said theyre behind when he called so it is non refundable so wouldnt count any blessing yet lol...

High- i dont need to be online bragging or explaining anything especially when i met several people in person from here. I can say that business plan is pretty simple, by meds 26-2800 sell for 250 - 300 tops for extra good quality. Its simple math... low bills/upkeep = selling for cheaper with quality(happy patients/customers) + buy at more reasonable price with plenty of profit margin(happy suppliers) = good business... plain an simple if a place were open that had plenty of supply from different people(plenty of people with supply so variety also) and they sold meds at a reasonable cost which is drastically lower then the competition also(wayyy more patients than needed to make a quota) then you supply/demand and happy satisfied people around you.

Albeit you make a poll for patients, would you rather have a place where you can get a back rub and see the veg room of 6" plants and have huge sale room decorated nicely but can buy grams or 3.5 grams for top dollar... or a place thats clean and has variety, customer service and can actually supply you with the amount of meds you need in quantity and quality at a cheaper price... see which one gets the vote.

That place is big, secure and extremely nice but what good is it when you need to go there several times a week because they wont sell an ounce of quality stuff that you need? Have shit for variety?

Our market is not california, its not a completely ok thing to most people still. IMO they thought everyone would throw meds at them for cheap and then the clientel would be lineing up out the door. There is plenty of customers but shit for supply, only because of there own actions.

Wow! I guess I will be probably waiting until December at this rate. Oh well. I am excited to get the card, I just wish there were some way I could speed it up. In the meantime I could get busy figuring out where I am going to grow in my house for the winter. Already have all the lights, I just need a secure place, that is warm so I don't need to run a space heater all winter. In the Spring, I plan to grow in my greenhouse at my farm. I should also mention that my partner is my caretaker, so I think that means we are allowed to grow more?
