Do you know of anyone getting busted trying to import? Did they get an unwanted visit from the fuzz carying garbage bags?
IVE heard that alot of attitude seedbank orders in queensland get taken due to custom officers knowing what packages to look for. PUKKABUDZ.com are good to send to australia so are the vault seedbank. LOST alot of overseas strains this year due to heat waves. I have to aussie strains i use as well sweet sativa and bush indica. BOTh are more drought resistant and can handle the heat better. BUT for overseas strains id say blue dream from hso . TNR and kc33 from nirvana loves the heat. and royal purple kush.

Ewwww your from qld don't hear to many success stories outta qld I'm sorry. As far as getting busted never heard of that happening you just don't get your seeds or a letter from customs which you throw in the bin and forget about, if you have any close friends or family in southern states willing to receive a package I'd go that route.

I'm in central Queensland humid summers dry winters. We would be pumping out some quality Bud. One can only hope
ohh i missed you are from central QLD, does the mail come in through Cairns then head down to middle QLD or does it all land in Bris then sent up to you? cos ive heard Bris postal service is super vigilant & it may be hard to get seed parcels through that route, possibly if it flies directly into Cairns from OS the postal service there will be less attentive? if Cairns is better than Bris you may purchase a PO Box in Cairns then get your mail redirected down to central QLD, bit of messing around, but if your a keen grower then its worth it.
also too since your in humid tropical oz it may be best aiming for the more sativa types to grow out as the more thicker/denser buds of indica types may be more mold prone, Sage as mentioned by ozcoco is a good bet, also THseed MK Ultra which though listed as mainly indica i found growing it out last season was very sativa like

haze.io carries Southern Star Seeds an Australian breeder and advertise as being mailed from Australia (no customs ), I've never ordered from them but it might be worth checking them out as Queensland customs are notorious for being tough to get through

Has anyone had experience prepping black clay soil in qld for an outdoor crop? Ph of roughly 8-9

You'll want that ph balanced with a bit of dolomite lime. Get it to pH 6-7.

Wait... I mean Sulphur. Not dolomite.

Not in qld, but in Northwest Florida I have dealt with a little clay. Add lots of perlite in addition to your regular soil mix. Clay is pretty rich dirt if you can keep it from packing solid. I use a lot of coffee grounds in my mix, so I add extra lime anyway. Peat moss is a pretty cheap {and light} soil builder, but you'll need to doctor it up.

Or is it Vermiculite that helps drainage? Hell, add both.

I have a decent compost mix and was going to add coco coir and pumice ,vermiculite and a decent handful of dolomite lime in the bottom of the holes. That said I have to carry this shit through the bush haha. First time venturing away from having my girls in a pot in the back yard.
