Computer code that can turn any almost any device that connects via USB into a cyber-attack platform has been shared online. Computer security researchers wrote the code following the discovery of the USB flaw earlier this year. The pair made the code public in an attempt to force electronics firms to improve defences against attack by USB.
I hope this is resolved quick as I'm a big addict of these drives, like many I stash all my canna stuff/pics/notes/diary on these just in case I loose my pc ...? .(shit!)

Thanks for sharing, but this is really old news. It may be a new story to the mainstream but USB devices have been spreading viruses for a long time and they are not the only devices that are vulnerable. Firmware hacks have been in play for years. Thats one of the main reasons motherboard manufacturers are trying to produces a "secure bios". There has been malware developed that copies itself to firmware of various types of hardware so that even if you format your harddrive and reinstall your OS, your hardware ends up reinfecting your machine.
