Yo guys
I’m running an supergro 8 pot rdwc system,
My Rez is outside my grow area.
I was checking my ppms and ph ect and I noticed a bit of an aquarium stink in my res it’s not majorly stinky just when I’m right above it,
My roots ect were all gleaming white last night when I checked them so not sure if it’s bad bacteria or anything to worry about but thought I better be safe than sorry and ask u guys!
I can’t check my roots at the mo as I’ve still got 5hours till the lights come back on.
Help me! Lol
Cheers

You can run an aquarium filter with some carbon in.
Thanks for getting back to me dude!
But do you think that it could be anything bad? Also my system has a filter on it when the water recirculates it goes through a filter, would an aquarium filter be different to my built in one?

Anything that can hold carbon while water runs through it will work... Steal some pantyhose from your wife and tie it up in there if you need to.
Water goes through carbon, stink stays behind.

Air pump is pulling in spore's and or bacteria from the environment most likely. You need a filter on the air pump intake.

Only uv or pool shock is gonna kill that sheet. The smell is going nowhere it's in the plastic now.

I have thrown away a grip of buckets from that foul stench lingering after a run and even after dumping gallons of disinfectant into said buckets.

Put that carbon filter on the intake of the air pump and no more smelling bacteria will enter your closed system, think about it.

Ionizer and HEPA filters in the room help.

We had this debate in the Canna thread before...
