Well I suppose you get what you pay for, and in my friends case that's an aphid infection.

My friend got some free clones and it looks like they have aphids chewing away at two of his weaker plants. He has 6 total, but only two of the weaker ones show slight signs of aphids.

On the two weaker plants the aphids already sucked the life out of one set of leaves. The leaves looked almost completely dead so he cleaned off some clippers with alcohol and peroxide and snipped off the dead leaves.

After that he made some PH adjusted spray to mist the plants and then he carefully removed any aphids/honny dew spots/eggs/dirt/ ect...

Now he wants to add something safe to the mister that can help kill off the buggers that isn't messy. Any suggestions?

Also do fresh garlic cloves/onions really help keep them away?

Any other tips on keeping these things dead and under control is much appreciated!

Thank you all for your wonderful support!

Ladybugs dude, the hydroshop sells em, you get a couple hundred for ten bucks, these things are starving when you get em and they just go to town on those fuckers, spider mites too! Plus its fun to get stoned and watch em roam around and eat things!

^ and commit suicide on HID's... "... i can't help it.... it's so beautiful.... *BZZT!*" lolol (the nice thing is you can use some of them at a time and keep the rest in the fridge for a while until you need them, one adult ladybug eats about 50 aphids a day and they'll start eating each other if they get rid of the aphids)

seriously though: if you're not in flower yet you can make a suspencion of water and diatomaceous earth and spray them. (if you haven't heard of d. earth, look it up. it's safe enough that people eat it for intestinal parasites but the cell structure makes it an effective pesticide.) if they're crawling aphids and not flying ones you can sprinkle it around your soil surface and rims of pots etc. which will keep them from spreading as long as there's no leaf-to-leaf contact between plants either.

neem oil, systemic agent. I give it 1-2 weeks. very cheap. One day after application (foliar spray or in nute mix), try to get some ladybugs. 2 to 3 is enough mostly for 1 cubic meter. aphids are pretty easy to get rid of if you're acting in time, not waiting for a week or so. If you have a serious infestation, you gotta use chemicals.
