Hey guys,

I came across LS's new short path distillation kits the other day, and I was wondering if anyone has seen/used them in person? They seem interesting, but they're also pretty expensive and out of stock I think, so any real world info would be appreciated!

Cheers,
Jed

Buy the pices separately from labware suppliers. It'd be cheaper. It's all stuff thats been around forever. Those guys just wrap it all up in a neat package for you and market it to people like yourself Idk what their charging but all the kits ive seen are really expensive

You can get better quality stuff too.
Layboy sells a jacketed shorth path condeser for less than $200. I have one. Cow is like $30 or less on ebay or anywhere really. The quick connect hose feature they brag about is meaningless if you use vwr gum rubber hose like anyone does that works in a lab. Their vacuum pump is low quality. Their mantle just looks cheap but idk. Chiller looks nice.

Ok yeah, I wasn't exactly sure about that. I was reading some people were having trouble w/ chinese glassware breaking in another thread, so that'd be something I'd want to avoid, but I'll definitely play around w/ some other options! Thanks! Of course if someone has some experience w/ their kits, I'd definitely still be curious to hear about build quality and the mantle etc...
