I am able to get Jacks Classic nutes locally and was wondering how well they worked out. Im thinking Orchids Special 30-10-10 and trace minerals for flowering and Blossom Booster 10-30-20 for veg. :leaf:
Water,water,nute.
Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks:peace:

the 30-10-10 would be better for veg due to the nitrogen requirements of a growing plant, or I think they have all purpose wich is 20-20-20 ive heard of people using that through veg, the blossom booster would be better for flowering, but a small dose at 3 weeks veg will kick your root growth up a notch.

I would highly (no pun intended) recommend "Jack's Classic" (formerly "Peters") to anyone who is compelled, for whatever reason, to use chemical nutes.

Unlike some Miracle-Gro products that just concentrate on the "N-P-K" content, Jack's Classic nutrients (formerly Peters) also give a balanced amount of all secondary nutes and "trace elements" as well. They are truely "Complete Nutrients"!

I don't want to start a "Shit Fight" here with MG users, I'm just a former "Peters" user who did my homework back in the last millinium.

Cool. I thought most people were against MG because it can burn plants and is too acidic.
I havent gotten to use the Jacks yet since my plants are just seedlings but I got a good deal on it and expect decent results.
My main concern is too much nutrients and having to flush plants since the Jacks seems to be high in Nitrogen.
Thanks for the feedback

If you look on the bloom package (10-30-20)at the ingredents you'll see Jacks has no Urea N in it whereas MG (15-30-15)has it in abundance. I think this type of N causes most of the nute burn. Urea takes a while to break down and stays in the soil and is hard to flush out. They do put 5% ammoniacal N in it though, which is much easier/quicker to be used up, and nitrate N which the plants readily use. It makes sense to control the amount of N being used at this stage.

Jacks all purpose has alot of Urea in it. (17.9%), but this is the time where N is crucial. So it makes sense to put a N in there that will be there a while. If you notice, they don't mix ammoniacal and Urea Ns together, I think its because they both are time release so theres danger of to much. MG mixes them all together, which is why I think it causes nute burn.

This is only imo, and if i'm wrong please correct me.

Hope your cheap price was less than $4.99 cause that's what I pay at the local nursery :bigjoint:

I'm on my first grow with Jack's right now. I've only feed twice with the 30-10-10 but I've noticed a huge improvement. I'll be vegging them for another 2-3 weeks, then switch to 12/12. then after another 2-3 weeks into 12/12, I'm going to switch to the 10-30-20. But at that point I'll prolly do flower nute > flower nute > veg nute or something like that~

seed2bud,

You ought to check out the Gardening Tips and Tweaks thread by uncle ben. He's a big proponent of using Jack's Classic. The man's got a lot of good advice about growing weed. He's certainly helped me improve what I'm doing.

Yeah Im already subscribed to your Noob advice thread Riddleme. Its good advice for people like me. My main problem is getting it to the point of using the nutes and Im open to advice. I have a almost 2 week sprout and it just isnt growing. The PH of my water here is high so I gathered some snow to let it melt and see if its rainwater PH. otherwise the only real problem I see if that the humidity in my house atm is really low and I dont know what low humidity does to MJ

To clarify, this is my plant. pic was taken about 3 days ago and it hasent done anything since. was planted as a germinated seed about 1 week and 2 days ago.I have the 2 floros about 2 inches from the plant top on 24 hrs. I have added no nutrients to the soil yet. If this is a fail I may try it in FF light warrior soil next time
