I've been running Kodi Krypton on my Amazon Stick for about 6-7 weeks........it's definitely better then the 16.1 (or whatever) stable version at this point.

Yes I like the stability, it has a higher processor so searching is a breeze. And if you enjoyed Jarvis 16.1 you can get the same skin just by going to tools>skins>confluence

I've been running Jarvis on my Win10 machine for a year with no problems. If I install Krypton do I have to start from scratch and reconfigure everything and install all the addons again?

That might be a deal breaker!

You can upgrade to the latest release v17.1 like I did on win 10 as well the one problem with upgrading to the newest version is that you may lose skins for some builds or even builds themselves because some dependencies may not yet be supported but that is a minor inconvenience once you get use to the higher processing speed. Also keep in mind that Krypton 17.1 is a total new look but you can still use any skin the one Jarvis uses is called Confluence and in Krypton it is called Estuary.

This is now my side Hustle I hook up all the firetv sticks, boxes and 4K boxes for folks that need them. Don't bother getting getting a 4K box unless your TV is UHD otherwise stick with 1080p.

Thanks for that, I'm sure that will lead to some more questions in the future. But you did not answer:

I did answer you, some skins and builds might be lost cause some of the dependecies are not yet supported and Krypton 17.1 is in RC (release candidate). But if you have it running on win 10 you're using the computer processor as apposed to the processor in a FS or any box is much lower 5.1.

If you run this on your computer you don't need to upgrade, only FS and boxes.

Sorry to get back to you so late was on vacation.
Anyhow tvaddons which was the main repo for Exodus is no longer around since Dish network has sued them.
The best repo out there right now, IMO, is firetvguru it has multiple repos in 1, Elysium, specto, and about 15 other repos it used to have the Exodus repo but because it no longer is being supported with daily updates from tvaddons the repo was dropped from firetvguru build altogether 2 updates ago.
I'm currently running firetvguru w/real debrid on my laptop.
To get this build go to www.firetvguru.net I don't know if Krypton 17.4 is available yet but if it is DO NOT download it yet it's in RC (release candidate) stick with the 17.3 fork.

170 ‘Pirate’ IPTV Vendors Throw in the Towel Facing Legal Pressure

Backed by two recent rulings from the European Court of Justice, anti-piracy group BREIN has pressured dozens of vendors of copyright-infringing IPTV services to halt their sales. Those who still fail to comply risk tens of thousands of euros in fines and potential prison sentences, the group warns.

Pirate streaming boxes are all the rage this year. Not just among the dozens of millions of users, they are on top of the anti-piracy agenda as well.

Dubbed Piracy 3.0 by the MPAA, copyright holders are trying their best to curb this worrisome trend. In the Netherlands local anti-piracy group BREIN is leading the charge.

Backed by the major film studios, the organization booked a significant victory earlier this year against Filmspeler. In this case, the European Court of Justice ruled that selling or using devices pre-configured to obtain copyright-infringing content is illegal.

Paired with the earlier GS Media ruling, which held that companies with a for-profit motive can’t knowingly link to copyright-infringing material, this provides a powerful enforcement tool.

With these decisions in hand, BREIN previously pressured hundreds of streaming box vendors to halt sales of hardware with pirate addons, but it didn’t stop there. This week the group also highlighted its successes against vendors of unauthorized IPTV services.

“BREIN has already stopped 170 illegal providers of illegal media players and/or IPTV subscriptions. Even providers that only offer illegal IPTV subscriptions are being dealt with,” BREIN reports.

In addition to shutting down the trade in IPTV services, the anti-piracy group also removed 375 advertisements for such services from various marketplaces.

“This is illegal commerce. If you wait until you are warned, you are too late,” BREIN director Tim Kuik says.

“You can be held personally liable. You can also be charged and criminally prosecuted. Willingly committing commercial copyright infringement can lead to a 82,000 euro fine and 4 years imprisonment,” he adds.

While most pirate IPTV vendors threw in the towel voluntarily, some received an extra incentive. Twenty signed a settlement with BREIN for varying amounts, up to tens of thousands of euros. They all face further penalties if they continue to sell pirate subscriptions.

In some cases, the courts were involved. This includes the recent lawsuit against MovieStreamer, that was ordered to stop its IPTV hyperlinking activities immediately. Failure to do so will result in a 5,000 euro per day fine. In addition, the vendor was also ordered to pay legal costs of 17,527 euros.

While BREIN has booked plenty of successes already, as exampled here, the pirate streaming box problem is far from solved. The anti-piracy group currently has one case pending in court, but more are likely to follow in the near future

Europe has always had a problem when it comes to piracy, anyone who watches IPTV or forks on Kodi had better be watching using a vpn.
In America we don’t have to worry about that, but it doesn’t mean a case can’t be filed against you but you have to be a big pirater.

I still use IPTV the best so far IMO is Terrarium tv followed by showbox.

I can't understand that its MPAA..Hollywood and their agents trying to make life difficult for years

failing miserably at least in Europe

yet you at home have no issue

    I think thats what

all that G8 meeting/ TTTPPPA crap is about

    trying to marginalize their markets

Over here the mpaa gets real frisky with cease and desist orders if you get picked off for sharing. Hit and run they can't really do anything.

If you seed anything for more than a few minutes you get ISP fukery in the form of a splash wall saying what you were serving.

Now with Kodi based sheet they are after the repo admins of the most popular instead of the 65 million users.

so you saying we can make our own RIU...TV ...lol

    I understand to make addons

you just open the addon in note pad and edit

posting to this audience could be difficult

as only 3-4 members would own a kodi/firestick etc

I feel ya Bennu was a good addon one of the most used and with a large selection of builds (Ares Wizard) is no longer around but I’ve no problems using FTG on kodi 17.6. You’re in an era that can’t control the beast, every time an addon disappears IPTV’s pop up all over the place.
