Anyone running a Ipower 6" fan with a step less controller?

Have a backup fan.
But its way to loud. Beyond obvious im sure the neighbors either will now im growing or landing jets in my living room one or the other.
Anyone know if this fan will quiet down any with a stepless or will i have to get a variac ?

i do understand that the wave length from a step less is square and incorrect
but its not permanent just a quick fix to keep LEO off my back
cant let the scrubber go down for too long im sure you know how it is

I'm running a 240 CFM 6" inline fan and the fan makes zero noise, the only noise is from the air movement. im waiting on one of the blowers your talking about
was trying to go to back up cause the duct blower i have is trying to hang up sometimes

Oh man that sucks! You know anyone you could borrow like a booster fan from and just squeak by till you get a new one in?

inline fans need a Variac controller, duct fans use a stepless controller, but you can use a steples on ur inline also just might make a hum and shorten the life of your fan, and a fire risk so dont recommend keeping inline on stepless longer then needed.

I highly recommend this fan if noise is an issue. It comes with a built in speed controller and is super quiet. The only sound I hear is air rushing into the cooltube because I have not installed the carbon filter yet.
