I have gotten that far thanks for the link this is the chart I have been using

http://talkingelectronics.com/CctSymbols/Circuit_Symbols.html

So far I have pretty much everything deciphered and am finding where to buy it nothing that really costs much. I am having problems finding the field sensor plates for sale unless they go by another name.

thats the place that came up with the design, they might give you a better clue of what should be used there.

Hi jaw420,

You could tie a string around a finger. String on = cloner off.

Or you could use a light sensitive switch to apply this concept of string on = cloner off. A light sensitive switch placed so as to sense the lack of light from your cloner would work. When the cloner is turned off, whatever device(s) are connected to the switch will be turned on, like an alarm or another light that's positioned somewhere on your premises in plain sight. You'll always have a visible status of power on/off to your cloner. Light on = cloner off, Light off = cloner on. More practical than using a written note which can be forgotten of. :eyesmoke:

If an audible alarm is used, you would have to put up with the noise while the cloner is powered off (unless of course you switch off the alarm too, in which case you're screwed). :bigjoint:

Doubt a company in business of providing information is going to provide it for free plus that website says "Professional charges are based on rate of $100.00 per hour - minimum fee is $400.00." But I just might give it a try in a couple of days if I can't track down all the parts on my own thanks.

Why not look for a pedal that when you step on it turns off the flow of electricity?
Good idea I might try looking for something like that a peddle would work. Good thankin.

I do not turn any lights off when I turn the cloner off. All the timers and ballasts are even in a different room. could work if I added an extra light on a power strip with the cloner and unplugged the power strip i guess.

The alarm I am looking at does not start going off until the plug has been unplugged for 8min. but even if I had to put up with the alarm going off for the minute or so it takes me to look at the roots and check the measurements on the water that would be just great with me.

I'm pretty sure there is a thread on here from a qualified electrician asking for peoples questions. could give him a pm

I was thinking why not look in to re wiring a foot pedal for a sewing machine..
Not a bad idea but if I go with some type of switch I think I will use one of these.

I can just fasten it into the lip on the ez cloner where the lid sits and when the lid is lifter the cloner will shut off. I just did not want to make any modifications to the ez cloner or its cord. Plus I really have my heart set on an audible alarm.

Yeah I know a few electricians that are qualified to wire a grow room, house or commercial property. But there is a difference between an electrical engineer who is concerned with using electricity to transmit energy and an electronic engineer who is concerned with using electricity to transmit information. But might give him a pm in a few days if I cant find something premade I can buy.

if you check your cloner around the same time every day get an alarm clock that starts going off roughly the time you would leave ur room.

Oh my. I cant eve remember to plug a cord back in that I unplugged only 5min ago. There is no way I could remember to check on things at the same time every day. I don't even check the room every day anymore. completely random on the days and times the room gets check maby a couple days in a row, every other day or maybe 3 or 4 days could pass between room checks.
