Anyone Heard of 11th State Consults?

The waiting time for a card seems to vary,I went to 11th state first week of may,and got my approval from DOH-last week,a little ova 2 mths...I attribute this to all the lay-offs of state workers,I believe they're working as fast as possible, with limited resources...I was forced to use 11th State, cuz even though I have a listed medical condition,HEP-C....I have to use clinics since I lack private insurance, and was told by more than a few doctors,at more than a few facilities- "Sorry I can't sign mmj forms because we get Federal Funds, and hence have a NO-SIGN POLICY"....So thanx Uncle Sam,for making the poorest of people have to spend $300,because you refuse to reschedule medical cannibis...The state only charged me a $10 fee though...Just thought I'd put this info out there, hoping it saves someone some time, and peace of mind....

Legal eagles post has me wanting to remind everyone that however long it takes to get the letter that says come get your card,...is irrelevant for the most part. You are considered legal (by the state) the day after they cash the check which is usually within 2 weeks. Check your account and watch for the day it pops up and then you're good 2 grow!!

Also if you read the MMJ laws,IT SAYS THE DOH has 35 days to issue you a card in response to a valid application.if they dont,a copy of your application is considered a valid card until they get around to issuing one.So make copies of ur forms b4 u send them in.I payed with a money order,so I could'nt use the trick LBH mentions with the check. So paying by check seems like the way to go then.

Actually, just keep your signed copies of the paperwork. You are legal as soon as you have that paperwork from 11th State.

Not according to DOH. Your 2 year term begins the day the check is cashed. That's the date used to govern the expiration on your card.

where does it say that your legal when they cash your check? i have looked everywhere and dont see that. also having signed copies of your application does not technically mean your legal.im surprised 11th state tell people that.anybody can forge a application and carry it around in there pocket...all it is is a application, your not officially approved by the state yet...and the biggest problem is try explaining it to the cop that all you have a application or try telling them "well the DOH cashed my check"....you will still get arrested.you MIGHT be able to fight it in court and win if its been longer than the 35 days since you mailed in your application...but do you really want to try it?
i just mailed in my application 15 days ago and they just cashed my money order yesterday.im not considering myself "legal" until im holding that id card in my hand and im sure thats what the police think too

its a shame that the state is taking so long to give us our cards.there not following there own rules.there quick to cash that check though.
Chill out it will come soon enough.Newbies telling people in the program how stuff works..Listen sometimes would ya.Once they cash your check they also have got to your app and approved it,meaning if your patient number is checked you are active so yes you would be legal already.Would i risk it prolly not Technically are you legal? YES.

newbie? maybe to this forum...im just saying that 11th state is telling people that once the nurse p.signs your application to keep copies and your legal until you get your card.its not true.your not legal until you are approved by DOH.i know im legal since they cashed my check so therefore im approved.am i legal in a cops eyes if i get pulled over with no card just a application? NO...am i legal after getting a lawer and time in court blah blah blah .YES....
and believe me im chill man..im just frustrated that it takes the state up to 3 months to get cards to sick people...heres there own rules section 4.2 of the DOH regualtions-

The Department shall issue registry identification cards within five (5) days of approving an application or renewal, which shall expire two (2) years after the date of issuance.

this is why im frustrated.

You stated the wrong law..That law is saying AFTER the DOH approves your app they have 5 days to get the letter to you to come take your photo...When we say your app will be your card after 35buisness days passes and still no letter to get your photo, your copy of the app is proof of your card, until you do get the letter.

what law did i state wrong? im saying 11th state is telling people there legal as soon as you walk out of that building with your signed app..im saying thats not true.
i already know about the 35 day rule. ive read the DOH regulation book about 20 times...i think your misunderstanding me....
im saying no matter what if its been a day since mailing out your app or 6 months if all you have to show is a signed app. chances are you will still get arrested and have to fight it in court.

Been away for a while with some health issues, but I would like to help clear this up. The law states...

(1) "Cardholder" means a qualifying patient, a primary caregiver, or a principal officer, board member, employee, volunteer, or agent of a compassion center who has been issued and possesses a valid registry identification card.

So if we want to be technical if you are in the program and forget your card at home, and get pulled over and have medication in your position… you are in violation of the law, your card only covers you if it is in your position. Will you win in court? Most likely, if you can afford to fight it.
The problem is the state budget. The volume of applications and renewals has gone up, but the state cannot afford to add the staff to keep up. Are they in violation of the law? Yes. Do we want to bitch about it and have them change the law to say … 90 or 120 days? Personally, I think I would rather leave things alone...
Just my 2 cents and hope everyone is doing well.

I don't remember the exact timeline but they were very friendly, professional and I
ended up getting my card. After about 6 weeks I got a phone call from them saying I was approved from the state and I should receive a letter to that effect in a few days. I did about one week later.
The next day I went down to the Dept of Health and got my photo and card while I waited. It took about 15 minutes.
I think the whole process was close to 8 weeks, tho, start to finish.
It was worth it.

I must say form what I saw when I was there to what I have heard from others this place is nothing like Dr.P. I know of a few people that were turned away by 11th state. However, I know more who have had great dealings with them. 11th state consult has also shined light on a few problems with some of the procedures over at the DOH that will now need to be addressed . With all that said I could not have been more wrong about them they turned out to be a good addition to our community.

I didn't learn about Dr. P until just a few weeks ago - however I too was very skeptical of 11th state at first. I have a qualifying condition, and not to dismiss anyone with an ailment of anykind (I'm not like that) but I have an actual condition which is recognized by the program and I have years of pharmacy, neurologist and PCP records to back it up. I didn't want to talk to my doctors about mmj. One, because I'm under 30 and I'm not looking to be strerotyped. Two, this program is still in the shadows for the most part. I read about 11th state before I found RIU/other forums and my first thought was that it was going to be a set up or something. And I'm usually not that cynical of a thinker!

I spoke in depth with HghFly, and then with 11th St through email before I made my appt. Then when I actually went there, I was so surprised. The office was nice, the people were nice. There were even a couple folks there in there 70's looking for the same thing as me. (Relief, without being sterotyped by their doctors.)

Not sure if anyone else did research about the people at 11th St. after their visit but the RN has history teaching and running a walk-in/PCP office. GREAT people, the type you'd invite to your backyard cookout.

My advice. If you NEED this service, use it. But please don't reccomend it to people who DON'T need it. I'd hate to see 11th St. put in the position to make judgement calls everday and eventually not be able to do what they do.

Bud

does anybody know of it takes the 6-8 week timeline to add a caregiver?
I would imagine. The paperwork still needs to get processed by the DOH, then registration fee deposited to the state acct, and then whatever follow up they do afterwards (like sending you the letter in the mail, etc). Personally I still haven't received my actual letter in the mail nor gone to get my actual card - but it's been close to the 6 weeks estimated time that folks have said they are delayed up to but my check got cashed a few weeks ago and they added a small numerical code to the top of it (I saw it on my online banking). I imagine this is my actual registration #?

So from my analytics it seems they have a system at the DOH. Someone sits at the mail box with the obnoxiously long adress that we all had to write on our envelopes. They get all the registrations in and open them and hand them to someone else who verifies all the info on them on. Then they write your mmj registration # on your form and your bank check and hand it over to the secretary who deposits it. Meanwhile, the form (practitioners form) goes to someone else to construct the letters, etc, and mail them out and then it all gets digitally entered and filed. Assuming they only throw like 4 or 5 people on the job I can definently see it taking a long time with 1200+ applicants, renewals, etc and growing.
