Anyone harvest with white hairs?

Just curious if anyone has ever had to harvest with white hairs cause the trichs were all cloudy? I feel like my trichs are maturing before the hairs recede on this plant.

Yes the first couple seasons, and I thought it was a good up buzz but kind of airy buds. Than from the third season on, I said I'll never harvest early unless absolutely necessary. By necessary I mean -3 celcius, hurricane, severe mold, predator damage or thieves. The yields are much better when you wait for the hairs to atleast change color, but best to let receed too. Also the buzz is uncomparable in potency, night and day. Anyway just wait as long as you can, or semi harvest if you must now.

I just had to do that. Three of my plants were already changed from white to red, two others had both, and one had white. Had to pull all of them early cuz of Caterpillars. Hot hit hard and didn't have any BT. I'll let you know how the smoke is after the cure.

just one plant? are you running more than one strain, or more than one of the same? it could just be a pheno of the strain. i usually wait till i see amber here and there before harvest.

Running 4 plants, 3 of one strain and one on its own and this one seems to have like 100% cloudy trichs with a bit amber and hairs just starting to turn color. Already harvested one of the 3 and looking to do the other two this week as they are indica and more than ready just kinda airy. If I wait longer will they fill out?

the year before last I harvested some bud early(most of each plant) , as it was same as yours, kinda airy also. I left about an ounce of bud on each plant watered really good and came back 6 days later to see the buds were filling in. I watered again harvested 4 days later, and they tasted a lot better then my early harvest also when dried. I blame the airy buds issue on early harvest, but I also want to believe that I could of had some type of nutrient lock out. start watering heavy if you are ready to harvest and give it another week to 10 days. I think you will be a lot more satisfied! just my 2 cents

I grew some vortex last year and when the trics were 10% amber the pistils were still white and planty..I had to harvest it ..it was ripe....I mean it had some brown orange hairs ..but not many..it turned out great after the cure..I guess some strains just keep pushing hairs when ripe...I had a C99 do the same a few years ago...again was ripe...so cut...

Yea I pretty much see no clear trichs and little to no amber. I just feel like I'm going too soon cause the hairs are still white but are starting to brown. Plant is super dense so I don't see it filling in anymore

Correct!!!!!! Wait as long as possible, the yield and potency will be unreal comapared to before the abmber trics. I know it's hard to wait and everything, but now that you have a taste of harvesting, why not try waiting until most are amber and try the "narcotic" high haha.

Well because this one is a sativa and want to keep it that way haha. I'm not a big fan of that narcotic high anyway, makes me lazy and eat too much haha! I will wait till at least all the hairs are brown with this one though

Awesome dude, I was just trying to help you maximize your yield and buzz haha. That's the beauty part about growing your own, there's no right or wrong just personal preferance. Good job man!

also some plants will continue to push white hairs if you continue to feed it nitrogen, or it has a lot of nitrogen in the medium.

There is not much yellowing of the leaves so I assume there is plenty of nitrogen in the medium actually.

Letting a Sativa fully mature is not going to change that it is a Sativa. Letting it develop amber trichomes isn't going to make it give you Indica like effects. So I wouldn't be chopping early to try and tailor the high this strain is going to give you.
