Finaly gonna bite the bullet and invest in an LED - After a long period of deliberation I've decided to keep it to UK based suppliers (less hassle if it all goes tits up, not to mention keeping my business out of the view of customs).

I'm initially looking to spend around £300 on something with an aim to grow between 3 and 4 plants (in a 2ftX2ft tent) and have rounded it down to the following products :

http://www.prakasa.co.uk/prakasa-300w-grow-light-seven-spectrum-p-2.html (can find it online for about £320)

http://grownorthern.com/index.php?page=shop.product_details&flypage=flypage-ask.tpl&product_id=7&category_id=1&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=11&vmcchk=1&Itemid=11

http://www.greenlights-ledgrowlights.co.uk/html/lights/budmaster_180w_4g_led_grow_light.htm

The Prakasa seems to be the best deal, but Im wondering on the quality of the actual product, HAS ANYONE OUT THERE USED A PRASKA 300? really struggling to find comprehensive reviews of any of these (beside the budmaster which sounds quality, but Im worried it might not be powerful for what Ive got in mind)

has anyone had any experience with any of these products (or companies) please share!

Personally I would stay away from them, I have no direct experience with them but having spoke to them some time back they would not answer any questions regarding details of components etc. This is always concerning for me. Why not look for plantphotonics.com, they may not be UK based but they are still EU. Bullet proof panels that will blow prakasa or grownorthern out of the water.

Yeah mate - pretty much made up my mind thats who Im going with - the light just seem to have a bit more thought/money put into them and the gut on the phone seemed like a decent person to deal with (although the dude @ Northern was safe too)

Im interested Y you're singing their praises so highly though, have you had any lights off of them?
Im thinking of going for the 180 as money/space is kind of tight, but Im concerned this might not be enough umpth to flly flower 3 to 4 plants :s

http://www.greenlights-ledgrowlights...grow_light.htm top shit right there, buying in UK go with these guys best lights you can possibly get. they are expensive but you get 100% what you pay for

i went for the highest budbabe one and it is super bright frying off my retinas. i would recommend those for small space as i heard the 4G as too powerful for a small space? my mate also used it before and got great results, very tight bushy plants and thats not even the high power "4G" ones.

Hmm budbabes an interesting twist, kind of ruled them out as being too lightwieght.

Correct me if Im wrong, but I think the are issues with the budmaster in small spaces is down to the 60degree lenses, which mean you need about 3 foot between the light and plants)
The green lights guys say on their site they'll switch them to 90degree's if needed (although Im not sure if there's a charge for that)

what size space r u using the babe in? and how many plants does it serve?

pps "
These lights are not a HPS replacement, you will always need a double lens light for extremely dense bushy crops. " does this ring true?

hi synaps, i recently did the same and bit the bullet so t speak, and after loads of research and talking to experienced grower mates and reading loads of forums, i went for 2x prakasa 300s in a 150cm x 150cm tent. the units are very slick and well put together and they have a load of small fans on the tops which dump out all the heat they produce so they run completely cool. the fans are so powerfull they make more noise than a 4 inch extractor fan! bear in mind that as the lights will not heat your tent any amount worth mentioning, make sure you intake air from somwhere warm. especially in winter.

i am currently 8 weeks into veg, (i always veg 8 weeks with 600w hps then 5-6 weeks flower) and they are much bushier than they would be with hps. due to the amount of veg they have produced, i added 2 more 300w panels 3weeks ago, as although the light intensity is great and the plants love it, led panels dont spread the light in the way you can with a good bulb and shade. i now have excellent coverage accross the canopy.

the other major advantage i have come accross is that the stems are at least double the width of plants the same height and age under hps and have double the vegetation. i am confident this will be very good during flowering as they are able to absorb insane amounts of nutes.

i would highly recoment these lights, and you can get them for £275 a piece at growlightsled.co.uk
ps one is easily enough for your space, but the plants will bush out so much youll prob only end up with enough space for 2....
have fun :)

Ive had experience with all of those LEDs as I own & run my own LED testing Forum (My Home Page), Prakasa are good and have a old old pedigree in making LED's, the 300W ones are kick arse but for overall performance and build quality, not so good. GrowNorthern is a great company and a good friend of mine, I tested his lights many moons ago and had great results, Tangs journals on Autoflower.net speak for themselves aswell, so no need for me to test them for him. BudMaster is also a great company & good friend and am waiting to run a few tests with his fantastic LED's. the BudMaster II's, what ive seen of the journals from them aswell is amazing. I also know that GN is bringing out better spectrums and even a new light called the Rebel. Now I believe in seeing the proof before I believe, hence my forum, so I can safely and honestly say that Both of these company's are really really good as I have seen the results from both of these types of lights. Plant Photonics is also a serious contender at the moment, his lights are pure beauty & unique, I will be testing one of those pretty soon & am looking forward to seeing the results of his fantastic light, not in the UK tho but super fast delivery, I got mine within a week.

Hi,

I have been a member here for a little while and I haven't had the time to post anything before. I have so much to tell everyone, however I am having reservations about releasing the information I have about LED WARS and LED lights in general.

In the meantime, while I muster up the courage to do this, please allow me to share with you all the information images, links etc. of the LEDs I have been using and the images of plant growth.

Also just to let you know I am no professional like some of you experts out there! I hope you like what you see as these are just the test reports and goodie images!

The first set of plants (2). I think it was Black Domina X Bubblegum, but can't be sure. I used a Autopot Watering System. Didn't PH, just filled the container with tap water and used their standard fertilizer for food. I hung the light at the recommended distance and went for it. The tent did not have any extraction or filtration systems and I only used a couple of fans to keep the temperature down and a really basic timer. I used 2 x 280w IGS1 LEDs in the 1x1x1.8m tent and it did get hot. Hot to the point when it was hitting 40 degrees. Even then the plants were loving it! My professional grower friend could not believe that I had this basic system with the temperature exceeding 40 degrees. This is a man who loves his HPS but he had to concede that he was seriously amazed at what he was witnessing. He could not believe that these plants were thriving in this temperature range, in this environment, with the standard fertilizer I was giving them.

Well I'll let the pictures do the talking. If I could upload the video here, it would have been better.

Anyway I hope you like my photos and the reports I got hold of. Thanks all

you've posted once in 2 years and you are asking people to download your "research and development" file and your "8 band test results" becasue you cant seem to muster up the courage to do it here due to "LED wars" o_O

Budmaster is great!!! actually the lights are manufactured by Evergrow (http://evergrowlight.en.alibaba.com/) Shenzhen Sanxinbao Semiconductor Lighting Co., Ltd. But honestly mate, buy from Budmaster, the sales people at EG are tits and will fucking lie to you. Just make sure you are putting enough watts on your grow space. I do a 60% of equiv HPS and its working gangbusters. The Monster series are the shit, or Budmaster II or whatever the hell they are calling them, lol. Supplement with UV if you can, dont get UV/IR on the panels. Buy some extra modules with a vegging spectrum as you can swap them in and out in less than a minute. Go with multiple smaller panels (6/9 module ones) versus the big ones, you get better coverage and closer to the canopy. Just more flexible. I might try to negotiate the price down a bit too. Good luck, hope it helps.

Cupid - Did you like the pictures or did the date put you off!

Canadian1969 - Nice to hear your opinion, everyone has their own preference and I'm really happy with mine. At the end of the day if you are a professional you are going to buy the tools necessary to help you become a master. If you want a simple system for personal medication, then you can't really go wrong with a plug and go system. For me it was 1 tent, 2 IGS1 280, 2 Fans, 1 timer and an Autopot Watering System with it's own fertilizer. All I used was tap water and I didn't even PH. This was a very simple set-up that produced more than I expected with my first time. All I had to do was look at it and water/feed when necessary. Oh and have a great time afterwards! :bigjoint:
