Anyone Else Have Meniere's Disease?

Looking for others with the same shitty inner ear disease as I have. Hoping to get some suggestions on growing strains you've had the most medical success with. Be glad to share what I know and what has worked best for me to this point.

i have problems with my ears. DR.s look in there and say "oh, they look clean". they ring constantly and are often plugged. when i yawn they pop and i can hear very clearly for just a few seconds. then they get muffled again. i smoke every strain i can find.:blsmoke:

FDD: Meniere's is the "Mother******" for all vestibular diseases. Along with that constant 24/7 tinnitus come all the vertigo, dizziness and misery one can imagine. Meniere's just won't kill you. (But there were times I wished I was dead so the misery of Vertigo induced vomiting marathons would end.)

Tinnitus can be caused by a jillion things, but try cutting down on the SALT for starters. SALT to tinnitus is like fertilizer to a healthy plant...makes it bigger and LOUDER. If I eat a bag of fries from McD's, I can expect to be near deaf for a couple hours till the salt gets metabolized into my system.
(And I generally use less that a gram of salt daily...which is less than 1/2 a teaspoon)

Were it not for my herb I would be on 100% disability instead of being a working taxpayer. With it I can pretty much function normally in society without fear of sudden vertigo attacks. Good Sativa is not a cure for Meniere's (there is none) but it is the #1 tool for managing the symptoms. Since I started smoking herb in June 2006 (I was having 2-3 attacks lasting up to 12 hrs. ea PER WEEK), I have had -0- (yep, not a frigging one!) since that time. For a poor bastard that was as sick as I was, marijuana is a Godsend.

Have you had any dizzy spells along with the tinnitus? (not including "Overly Stoned"...:blsmoke:Even short duration ones (mere seconds) can be a pre-curser to other bad stuff.

I have Meniere's too Dizzy. Sudden onset in 2001 with total sensorineural hearing loss in one ear. I have Meniere's in both ears now and am on disability. Unfortuantely I live in Texas where there are no medical permits. Would like to move to a more enlightened state, but need to be near family because they help me a lot. When I was diagnosed I was employed by a big blue computer company who had excellent disability insurance for employees, otherwise I would be subsisting on social security disability right now.

I haven't found a variety that works better than others, have you? Really, valium helps me with vertigo the most. As soon as I feel an "episode" coming on, I take 5 mg. of valium and a diuretic. One hour later if I'm still spinning I will take another. Knocks me out for a few hours but it better than puking for hours.

It's a shitty disease, no doubt. I have 1-3 vertigo episodes a week no matter what I take, smoke or do. The Dr. says the only way to stop it is to drill out my inner ears and I would be totally deaf. Great, huh? I hang in there with the vertigo in order to hear some with my one good ear. Weed and valium... they are life savers!

yes, i get dizzy spells. i often think it might be the weed but it's different then that. it's within my head not just a body thing. my mind kinda spins and my body follows. i'm terrified of heights. never was before. i get dizzy on a 5 foot ladder. my eyes are constantly ringing and it feels like fluid is moving around in there. i've had several Dr.s check me and they say i'm fine. i was offered a hearing test but don't see what good that can do. if i can't hear i can't hear. not much you can do about that. i wish the ringing would stop.

Well the only ringing I know about is people being addicted to pain killers for a certain amount of time. That will cause ringing of the ears. May not be what it is, and for what it's worth I am sorry you guys have that horrible problem to deal with from day to day. It kinda makes me think you guys were sent here to show us how fortunate having your full hearing can really make you feel!

I have an inner ear disorder, Dr's wont name it menier's for sure or that other one, (BPPV?) because they arent certain. I am young so they dont want me on a durietic, but I have some meclazine I take if I get a true episode.
Marijuana actually makes my spins worse most of the time, which has kept me from smoking like I used to.
Last few times I hit it, I was boarder line vertigo, terrible to be high and dizzy.

ALSO, for those with vertigo or even ringing, I am taking a supplement called bioflavonoids, particularly from LEMON skins, which is supposed to have significant results with the inner ear. I ve been taking it for around a year, has INCREDIBLE results up until very recently.

Well, I'm no doctor, but I've had some troubles with my inner ear from a scuba diving injury. I think it helps to clear up the sinus tubes around the inner ear, so if I have trouble like vertigo, I start a regimen of Sudafed, and as the sinuses clear up, so does the inner ear problem.

I was told 9 yrs ago that that is what I had. I also had some terrible episodes up to 3 hrs in length where I was over the toilet barfing and I was to dizzy to stand up. Long story short. They put me on a water pill once daily and I took a bonamine tablet when I felt an episode or nausea coming and it works. Take the docs advice and get out of the hell you're living. Good luck.
