It seems to me their business model is fucked because they alienated the best possible suppliers and don't offer to pay shit. Those that do even look into it they brush off. How can they have the best meds when they operate like that? The product they do have is of medium grade at best and the edibles are shit. I know they were supposed to do some patient care and donate to disabled too. They never have anything available but one massage a month and only offer 10% on meds.
Now I don't have a MBA and my only experience is at a Taco Bell when I was a teenager, but I bet I'd run that place way better than they do.

I went to Slaters this week to check it out. I am not impressed at all ... I will stick with finding a good caregiver.

I moved here from Michigan coming up on three years ago now...and I'm sad to see there is still such a hard time finding caregivers for patients, and patients for caregivers. I thought it was just because I wasn't used to the way things are, but I knew better. The laws are structured to guide as many patients as possible to the few sources they allowed so the money stays in certain hands.

I don't need the meds, so I have not bothered with Slater on that end, especially after the crazy markups. But after all the things I've read and heard I don't want to do business with them on the other end either. It very much seems like they're taking advantage of growers and patients at the same time...so I'm in the same boat as you, except it's decent people for patients.

Patients and caregivers are a plenty. It's insane how many people want great smoke. Over the last 2 years I have seen a fantastic change where patients are becoming more educated and caregivers are growing better meds. I love how shatter is becoming more popular. Soon only the people with passion for quality will be in business good bye machine trim and horrible cure. Slater will quickly realize or they will fall behind and go out of business.

Wish I could agree but until RI legalizes and offer places to obtain meds I think slater will do good.with there only being 2 places for people to get meds there's no lack of patients spending money.slater is in prime spot also in the busiest part of the state.they might have Just average meds but they offer more than any caregiver can offer.i try not to hate on them cause they re helping tons of patients.tons of patients would rather not spend 200 on taking a chance on some shady caregiver trying to ride the system

That's what I mean when this goes legal other places will open. I actually kind of hope that bill passes because I will get one of those 15 licsenses

last time I heard it was going to be 10 retail places.RI may be the first east coast state to legalize.i heard they might sign it in without having to vote but also they are waiting to see how the Colorado pans out.
if it happens good luck trying to obtain a license that will be near impossible.prob be like mass where you need a million in escrow and are still fighting against hundreds of applicants.
nice to dream though

Well good luck..I don't think there's a caregiver in this state that wants to see it pass.when the market becomes saturated prices will plummet.bad news for greedy caregivers.good news for patients.

Lol, when the market becomes saturated is when it's federally legal... Until then greedy caregivers will still be cheaper than any dispensary in the state.

they pass law in sept. then how many of those 10-15 places will have doors open in the year 2014? Then how many places will have over 100 lbs on order for when they need it. When all the common people who are not patients buy up all the "meds"(won't be called meds anymore) there will be plenty of Eiths for $50-$60 left over. So lets recap. Sept, oct, nov, dec for paperwork/inspections if lucky. Then jan, feb, march,June for first harvest of maybe 40-50 lbs if they have good growers and building is setup pproperly in such short time. So now we have 8 months, I'd say 1 year to be realistic, of caregivers AND patients being arrested for going to street for meds and then the meds dry up and only access will be outdoors from California mailed in flooding street...sounds like patients will have it made.

one day people will think ahead of just whats going ot today. Don't believe me than how many applications have been submitted? How long did it take slater center to open its doors AFTER knowing all the inspectors and having all the funds available to them, having to pay bills/rent entire time?

stop trying to reinvent the wheel and just look for someone to provide for you. You will regret when this bill passes as slater center will be 1 of 2 places open and both will be RAPING the market because cops will be all over former cardholders and raiding EVERYONE while they can , yes patients also.

Caregivers don't have a choice but to stay cheaper than the centers or else there would be no reason to deal with them.

Err, wrong again.. by law slater needs to be priced higher than cardholders and "street" prices. So, you see there is a setup in place that favors caregiver, patient relationships for a reason. Hense in the last year - 2 years prices went from 350 a oz to 200 an oz for same quality. Only the patients benefited from that... so evidence shows how wrong you are.

also, have you noticed how much attention and hype legalization has gotten since POLITICIANS saw coloradosColorado's tax revenue? This is all about money coming out of consumers pockets aka patients. How can you say otherwise with providing evidence for what your saying?

please provide a link to the RI law that states centers need to be priced higher than card holders and street prices? I've read the MJ laws up and down and never saw that anywhere I think you are the one that's wrong and misinformed.
As for prices they started coming down few years after RI turned med legal.more people growing=more product and goes back to what I said about flooding the market.past couple years have shown even faster drop because of MMJ services like 11th state and BandB.everybody is getting cards now furthering the saturation

so your agreeing that its flooded from cardholders? and your not disagreeing about stores not having enough supply for the next year at least...
therefor, cardholders clearly what gives people a big head, entitlement and options.

ill post law for dispensary when not on phone at work. its there, dispensary cannot give cheaper than street to avoid people buying there and resell on street.

i never disagreed.yes RI is flooded with weed.it will get more and more flooded since MA,CT and ME are now med.as for the stores I doubt statewide legalization won't happen for at least another year.then prob another year before anything opens.who knows about supply too many unknown variables.
as for your law I still think your wrong.i followed the openings of the centers closely while attending ripac meetings and never once heard of that law.ive also read the laws and didn't see anything.how can a law be put in place that is based off the black market? I seen green leaf selling zips for 220 and slater selling zips for 175 before So they broke the law? Lol don't think so.besides there is no set price for the streets.
the law that got put in place to avoid people buying there and reselling is the limit they attached.only allowed to purchase 2 and a half zips every 2 weeks.
