anybody know how to grow fruits and large veggies like squash indoors?

I'm growing indoors and the squash flowers keep dying instead of fruiting after the flower sheds? do i need to pollinate like i did with the thai hybrid peppers?

is squash like cukes where i need a female plant so i don't have to worry about pollinating?

Squash will have male flowers that are on a longer stem snap one off and rub it onto the female flowers
