That is everything you will need doctor but unfortunately, as it stands right now, you are only protected for possession in RI with your Mass card, it does not get you access to the dispensary but I assure you, they are working on getting that changed.

All the rules changed today. Go to the MA DPH website for more info. After the first of the year no more homegrowing or caregivers plus new rules for dr's who issue rec letters. Better get your letter sooner than later because things are getting tough in MA

?? You guys never had the right to grow or have c/g's,...I don't get it. They were supposed to be establishing the parameters of the program, are you saying the state is over riding the voters and wiping the whole thing out b4 it gets started? I think I'm lost here

Caregivers go away 12/31/13. No hardship growing at home. The dispensary guys did a great job of making sure they own the market. There will be a bunch of hearings before the end of the year but the state wants to control and regulate all growing through the dispensaries

How about,...."the state wont let me grow my own medicine anymore so now I have to pay $400 at their dispensary and thats only if I can find a way to get there,......every week"!! Can't get any more "hardship" than that,lol....damn. That sux guys, sorry to hear it. I wish I could add in "Rent is cheap in RI",....but, unfortunately, it isn't

Thanks for catching me up Epson :-) :leaf:

These new rules are LAME!!

Perfect reason to NOT get a rec and to stay underground growing a few plants for personal use. Who wants to spend money at a dispensary! Spending money on bud is the reason most of us started growing on our own to begin with.

At the expense of sounding like oliver stone it's almost like the whole doctor's rec/short term home cultivation deal was a trap. Get a rec and now they know you use cannabis and are most likely growing it. They almost have probable cause to get a warrant for anyone with a rec???

Hehe. In theory what your saying sounds plausible. However, patients are pretty well protected in Massachusetts. The law has not been majorly tested in the courts, so a lot is yet to be seen.

There are a couple of other ways of approaching all of this though.

Dispensaries will not be active until easy early-mid 2014. Also, most counties in Massachusetts with a mid-major populace (in essence parts of or almost all parts of most counties) have enacted a moratorium of sorts.

These moratoriums do not allow dispensaries, and the regulations state the dispensaries are run so tightly that some people are beginning to rethink their options when it comes to opening a dispensary in Mass. Honestly, the money isn't there for most dispensaries in general, and with such tight regulation and restriction, it will be interesting to see who pops up and who lasts. Furthermore, people as well as the general establishment 'dislike' monopolies in any industry, and this one is sure priming to look like a potential.

This effectively puts everyone in the wind for a hardship cultivation for the very foreseeable future. Almost in time for legislation to be passed to make marijuana use legal in Massachusetts. Like 2014 or 2016.

This could be wishful thinking. I think it is in some ways. However.

___EDIT____

I typed a lot mroe, but ROllitup crashed on me and this was all that was left, the above. Too lazy to type more.

So let me see if I get this straight...
No more home-growing on Jan 1st, 2014 without a hardship. But since no dispensaries will be open by then, hardships will still be available?

And are we thinking that even after they open, the price of dispensary meds would still qualify one for a hardship? For example, if one of the people I was trying to help was on disability and couldn't pay for dispensary prices, would they qualify on the grounds of a financial hardship?

I know you guys may not have solid answers, but what is the general consensus on this right now?
