Once you understand that cfls produce airy buds you will consider replacing them with Cree household LED bulbs- available at HD

See captainmorgans completed grow using them. Pretty awesome result

Cfls are about $10 for 4/pk,those cree led bulbs are $10ea.For those of us that are a little more frugal with our money the cfls are a better choice.Four 23w cfls would definitely yield more than one 9.5w led bulb.A 6/pk of the led bulbs would be $65 or a 12/pk of the cfls would be $30;).How dense buds are has nothing to do with potency,or quality of smoke.

When the 14.5w/100w equivalent cree led bulbs are a reasonable price,i will be switching my cfls for leds... for the better light penetration? and power savings.

BACK to cfls....keep your cfls as close as possible without burning, with good airflow you can get them real close ,almost touching.
Make sure the bulbs are at an angle or that their sides are facing the plant.Dudes scrog in your example pic could have been better..just sayin',not knockin';)

Growing good bro,can't complain..........thanks!
Don't use a foil turkey pan,if your a good do it yourself'er.Spend a little time making one you'll keep forever. Not knocking the pan cuz that's gonna be the cheapest and easiest route to go;)
Mine are made with ss roof flashing and 1/2" plywood ,mainly, with some aluminum tape, screws, wiring and know how....if you want me to tell you exactly how or knock some ideas around, pm me.Photo08071032.jpgPhoto08071032_1.jpg Photo08071038.jpgPhoto08071037.jpg Photo08071035.jpg

Don't flame me for my crappy set up(: I'll be adding more CFLS later on. I got the amound of lumens I need for 2 plants but I'm doing 1 plant at a time so ;P ANYWYS put the back of ur hand underneath the cfl and if it's to hot for u then it's to hot for then plant. Cfls are cheap and I love em. Plus save electricity and doesn't make my fans work as hard to keep it cool

Horizontal with a hood is best..Y splitters hanging vertical will work decently and it's been proven that with time and effort you can produce just as good nuggs with CFL's as with HPS !
yup correct, the only diffeence is u just need a lot of cfls to catch up to hps. But if ur using same ways and same lumens as the hps and cfls results will more than likely be the same IMHO

I have never used HPS but try to have 15000+ lumens per sq. foot of space with CFL's during flowering.
