any photos/experience of grows with only SMD 5050 red+blue (2 band) LEDs

LEDs.. SMD 5050, 445nm & 660nm, and 120*angle.

Are there any grow logs or photos of grows using only SMD 5050, and only those 2 bands?

Probably not. Most of the grows I've seen setup using strip lights stop updating shortly after the build. Cannabus related or otherwise. Which can be frustrating.

I think the bucket of light or something grew something... Nothing I would smoke.. Not worth the time thats for sure... but def. something to read..

look at chronikool's threads - he's done several grows with whites (not red and blue). Paneleta is the only red/blue I've seen to almost completion: http://rollitup.org/t/first-time-grower-experimenting-with-cheap-leds.610538/

I'd recommend 5630s instead of 5050s and I'd recommend running them soft at about 30w per 5m for almost negligible heat output.

I've grown with astir-like panels (1w cheap LEDs - 24W per panel) and I've grown some with the SMDs. For a PC/micro grow I think they are probably perfect. For a little bigger cab (but still micro, like rubbermaid totes - height limited micro grow ,I'd do vero 10s with 5630s as side lighting.

Is there a specific brand you would recommend? I've looked into SMD led's on tape reels and on rigid bars. Most are less efficient than a standard T5. I've been looking into them for low light intensity crops like microgreens and what have you.

I haven't measured efficiency of the SMDs, however, when you run them so soft that they are barely warm to the touch, i figure they must be pretty decently efficient at that amperage. I buy in 5m strips which can usually be had for $7-9 range per 5M. I think that there are quality differences but I haven't figured out the best way to distinguish the quality differences between the different vendors.
