Going to try this in a small batch of worm casting tea. From the quick bit of research i did looks like it has lotsa mics (only cal/mag on the lable) and amino acids. Got it at the ol' local "scratch n dent". Dont think itll hurt. IMG_0245.JPGIMG_0246.JPG

Notice it has as much sodium as calcium, and sodium is not a good thing for plants. Palm trees grow right by the sea so maybe that's why so much sodium, unless they added salt.

It is common practice to feed compost teas with molasses is it not? Figured for a couple bucks it was at least looking into further. Molasses substitute in a pinch? Maybe, maybe not. Pretty glad i got it though as its actually pretty tasty! Dig it?

The google knows all! Sodium chloride is used as a fertilizer in coconut cultivation! Many areas where cocnuts are grown are chloride deficient. Sodium chloride is an economical source of chloride. 1 source i read said they saw 125% increase in yield with the use of it. Seems to explain the high sodium content? Unapplicacble to our crop but still interesting. If you dont know now ya know

The molasses is to feed microbes in worm casting tea. I also use very small amounts of it (5 ml per gal every week or 2) as a water in for a source of magnesium. I run nectar for the gods in promix. Nectar has no true magnesium in their line. It relies on demeters destiny, an unbonded calcium. Calcium naturally wants to bond. It enters the medium and bonds to the coco, microbes eat it and magnesium becomes a biproduct of that. Molasses can be very heavy on the microbes though so less is more.
