Any Interest in Web Based Plant & Crop Tracking?

I'm learning a new programming language for my job and as a side project I was thinking about creating a web application that would allow you to input feed/nutrient schedules and track yields, etc. across many crops. Ability to identify phenos, etc. Just wondering if there would be any interest in this and if anyone had any ideas as to what they would want in such an application?

All replies appreciated.

P.S. If anyone develops in Django and wants to assist, just post a message here.

This would most likely not have the capability to do dosing. More of a journaling system for keeping track of your plants.

that would be cool but if its web based how can you assure security?
Web based in the sense that you use the app through a web browser. It would be offered for free, open source, for download and installation on your computer. At which point it would be strictly your own data on your own private system and accessible only by you.

During development, it would probably be hosted and everyone could have an account for testing with username and password. However, there would be no identifying data at all.

Does anyone think there would be ANY use for this? I do need a simple test app to build, but I won't waste my time on a marijuana-cultivation-specific one if no one is interested as I can't exactly go show it to my boss as proof of concept
