Hey, I've got some blue cheese autos growing only about 8days from seed. They've started to show discolouration on the leafs and I'm unsure why. Growing in soil, 600w HPS, no nutes as of yet, just water and been keeping the humidity high around 70-80%. Temps are around 25-28c with the odd rise to 30 but not for long. I've had the lights on 24/0 with plans to change to 18/6 soon. I'v attached a pic for more detail.
Cheers.

How often do you water? How big is that bag? How far is the light? what soil?
I only water when the soil starts to look dry. The pots 2L RhizoPot to be potted up to 12L. The light is about a meter or more away aaaand the soil is verve multi-purpose soil

You may be watering too much, usually when my sprouts are that size, i don't give more then 15-20ml of water at a time and that's under an HPS.

A good method with seedlings is to grab another identical pot, fill it with the same soil but dry and use the weight as reference.

With seedlings, Let your pots/bags dry out "close" to the reference weight before watering again. (At this point only the bottom of the bag/pot will have some slight dampness/moisture but no heavy saturation)

Ok, thanks alot. Definitely sounds like overwatering. Ill leave them to dry out and hope for the best! When would you recommend switching to 18/6?
Cheers for the help!

With HID, i don't go over 18/6.

That is plenty of light, the dark hours will actually help plants recover.

Since they are autos, you could just stick to 18/6-20/4 up to you.

I'd deffo say too much watering mate, they really only need a bit of water around the plant when there that small, add more as they get bigger

Pretty amazing how much better they're looking already after changing to 18/6 and letting the soil dry abit!

Thanks for your help!

Plants that young will actually do better under T5 or some CFL's. Save you on the power bill and bulb life. Daylight bulbs.

This is interesting. Up until what stage would it benefit the plant? I actually have a few CFL's in the house! May have to give this a go.

CFL's don't give off half as much heat as hps tho, I use to use CFL, not long had a hps and I'd never go back now, easier to keep your temps just right

Good good man, one thing I've found when I had a power cut and blew my hps bulb I stuck my CFL in and it proper slowed down growth completely confused them changing the light, 1 or 2 of my plants went completely droopy got my hps back and running and they were fine the next day

Hmm interesting...at what stage of growth did that happen?

Middle of week two pal, was told by someone on here it was a drop in heat and light and because the CFL was different spectrum, sorted the hps and he was right they perked right up the next day, I'd try not to fuck about with different lights like, from what happened to mine

Ahh that's about where I am now. Think I'll just leave the HPS on this time round. Got a deadline for this grow too as I'm moving house so don't want to stunt them and have it take even longer. Cheers for the info man, you've been a great help!
