here is one paragraph toward the bottom that i found interesting.

""I believe the recent lack of leadership in Washington is a contributing factor to the overall lack of confidence in the economy," said Mark Butler, Georgia's labor commissioner. "Due to this lack of confidence, we are seeing a business community that is hesitant to make further investments in this economy."

the business community has no confidence because there isn't enough aggregate demand to warrant expansion; I mean, the economy is growing at a snails pace - so slow now that we're not even keeping up with population growth - and the business community knows that that means aggregate demand will only contract further - not expand - and so are not investing.

Let us stop all unemployment all food stamps all welfare and see what happens when no $$ is being spent in an economy based on $$ being spent.

Hey mame ...

Do you think if we broke every glass window in the United States, that the ensuing boon in glass sales and repairs for glaziers would help turn the economy around? I mean, there would be lots of demand and money spent on new glass and labor, right?

Well it certianly would spur growth in the glass industry and every industry that supports it. Glaziers salaries would increase becuase demand would outstrip supply. The workers would then in turn spend money in their Local community which might tip the balance towards growth in those communitys. The tax base would expand and deficits would decrease.

But then I only had one semester of economics in college. I am not an expert like you
