Anesthesia - Breeders Choice

Just a thread for a great plant. Easily in my top 3 indicas all time. Some OD pics - it's great at the 49th and probably awesome even further south. Finishes quick. Good resistance. Good vigor. Great structure. Good yield. Great potency. Interesting flavor - not my favorite but I don't care as the smoke is great.

It's not a TRUE F1, but it's quite close. Excellent uniformity on plants. This is what a great strain is supposed to look like.

Here's a closeup taken today of one outside. The weather has been pretty glorious and I hope it continues. It did well in the rain last year though.

Here is the same plant in full glory:

Different plant up close:

Full glory:

The close up of the other plant looks pretty similar so I didn't bother.

Security System in place:

Hybrid vigor for the win! (Bullmastiff x King Shepherd) - he's about 130lbs. She's around 90. Despite being a tripod she moves faster than I can when she gets going.

My friends kid calls him Scooby. See a resemblance? He's an awesome guard dog. Highly highly reactive, but a good natured guy with his family at heart. He'll bite you if you hit him at all (Caeser's way does not work with him).

Super Skunk (packs from the 90's) x Herijuana.

No topping on those plants either. A little LST and you can see how you'd get a nice even canopy.

Yes I grew her outside last year too. It's great. High quality pain meds. Functional in the day for me the phenotypes I found. Probably would be a good strain for you to try IMO.

Thanks, yes it sounds like it could be some good day medication. Plus I've been wanting to try Sannie as I've seen/heard good things.... I know one parent is somebody's favorite :)

Great pics! Dogs are wonderful.
Anesthesia is a great strain. While most of them were maybe daytime-functional, the best girl that I found was definitely not.
Very stable, though, if you have a height restrictive environment and need a uniform lower canopy, this is definitely a good strain for that. Any mold problems on those? Mine had incredibly dense buds.

As far as the taste goes, if you only like to smoke either fruity or sweet strains, I would stay away from this one, as you will likely not find that here. Most of my patients are older than me, in the 50-65 y/o range, and they were fond of it, recognizing it as an oldschool kind of dark afghani taste. earthy, oily, dark coffee, generally a bold and strong smoke.

I had no germ problem with these, and they were also blissfully unaffected by the high rate of males that can happen with herijuana and crosses with it.

I had some bud rot, but not that much really. They survived one of the worst rain storms in the history of Vancouver Island last fall and I didn't lose much - some nice colas went but that shit happens outdoors unfortunately sometimes. Harvested over 3 units from two plants. I did very little to prevent the rot, just gave em water and that's it. No spraying no nothing.

I agree on the flavor, it's not very fruity. To say the least. There are some sweet undertones but it's not really pronounced. It's a pretty special plant IMO.

I've heard there are phenotypes that are pretty KO in nature but I haven't seen them yet. Could be my brain chemistry too. The older patients really like Herijuana a lot too.

When will this strain finish in September outdoors? Early, mid, late? What would you say the yield would be after putting them in those garden boxes of soil? They look sweet!

Yield is going to vary a bit. I'm not really sure to be honest. I expect I'll get over a lb a plant from the Anesthesia. Hopefully more than one per. But two of the plants aren't all that huge so we'll see.

They'll be done around late September early October.

Girls Look great OGE , I wish we had the luxury of large planting beds like yours ! Ehh, where there's a will , there's a way. We plan on starting fewer plants next year, but growing them HUGE. We can't grow out in the open like that, but I love to see others who can. Happy Growing bro, :peace: Let us know how you go-

Thanks OGE. I'd love to see you grow the early grizzly, the white grizzly, and the nepali grizzly outdoors. Maybe even jumbo grizzly. I keep hearing good things for BC'ers who use those. I don't think I will do the strains I did this summer again and will try something else instead that the community here suggests is great for BC. White grizzly is a good one for BC for sure.

Heard good things about it OD, but a lot of the guys who grow it are more guerilla. It's all about your situation. The Anesthesia I grew last year was comparable or better than a lot of indoor, so it's going to be difficult to get me to grow anything but it outside for the time being. My Timewarp x NL look interesting but not near as frosty. The Afghani I have is waaay late to flower. Disappointing there but it smells amazing and is already getting quite frosty.

wow. Thanks for explaining how the anesthesia looks outdoors. If it's comparable to indoor then it's a keeper in my books!

OGE - are you going to do a smoke report on the Anesthesia? We just ordered the "auto Anesthesia" from Pyramid Seeds and would love to hear more about this strain.

Ya know the auto and photo will not be the same? Why auto my friend?
Well I chose the auto bc of the cheaper price, to be honest. I've been back n forth between the "pure" and auto selection, but finally came to the conclusion that ruderalis genes will prolly (hopefully) not lessen the quality/effects of the Anesthesia. They are like $30 /5 pack fems... so that played a big role in me going with the auto version. Hoping they will be good, regardless. What do you think?

They're not related at all AFAIK.

This comes from Sannies shop and has nothing to do with the Pyramid Seeds version unless Pyramid has been using the Breeders Choice to do their thing. Which reading their description - it doesn't sound like it. Although NL x Black Domina - two fairly inbred lines - should be pretty good IMO for what it is.

I've smoked plenty of this strain. It's a pretty functional body stone with significant heady elements.
