Amount of soil for bucket grow

I just got my Auto white widow in the mail and I'm gonna be growing it in a bucket grow. My only option right now is growing inside a bucket..

I'm worried about the amount of soil/size of growing medium I'm gonna use. I want it to get enough root development to reach its full potential but at the same time in limited on space,obviously...

If I filled the 5gal bucket up 1/3 of the way full with soil, would that be enough?
I plan on doing as much lst as I can to let it grow as much as possible to fill the space..

It's a grow bucket.. I currently have a full bucket and then a half bucket on top that holds the lights..

I can add more height, obviously, but not so much the width..

Sometimes I think I should stop worrying about the little things and just go with the flow- but at the same time I wanna get it right and hopefully have a decent outcome.. I'm still on my first grow, just turned the lights to 12/12 on a reg seeded plant so yeah I'm a newbie lol

Never heard of a grow bucket.
You can't mean you are trying to grow an entire plant within the confines of a 5 gallon bucket.
Please tell me that is not what you are attempting.

Re-reading your posts, i think that is what you mean.
Hate to burst your bubble but that just won't work.
I think you should do more research before you begin.

Youve never heard of a space bucket? Yeah I agree for the most part but according to a bunch of folks, it is possible to grow with that method.

You have to use a bucket with layers to add height for your lights to fit.

Here in a few mins I'll take pics when I get the chance. Thx for the feedback man, I just really want to get this right.
The nutrients in using is probably horrible for flowering so I'm a little worried about that too lol.

I have a plant growing right now that's not auto, I flipped it to 12/12 about 4 days ago so I'm hoping it's gonna be a fem.

Five days of 12/12, shouldn't it be showing pre-flowers now?

you could do it just would take alot of training. wouldnt a dresser or armiore be better than explaining a tower of 5gallon buckets whirring? just saying it looks cool tho
