Amber @ 39 Days?

Whats up with all the amber? I'm only 39 days into flowering.

This is a Blue Dream...breeder says 70 days.

Well who cares what the trichomes look like on a leaf.

Check the calyx's only..

The tricomes on a leaf will mature first. The top of the plant will also.

Take the whole plant into account. Has it come close to estimated flower time? Wait for the pistils (hairs) to change color. Wait for the pistils to lay flat and start to recced into the calyx. Watch for calyx to swell.

Then check tricomes from calyx only. From several spots on the plant.

If there is amber and the plant doesn't look done, its not.

Some strains also show early amber.

That still has a ways to go.

This is a done bud.
Most the pistils have changed and receeded and the calyx have swollen. Kind of makes each section of bud stick out.

Damage and uv can both also cause amber tricomes.

There is a lot of amber going on.... is this normal for finishing?

Those are leaves... ignore whatever is going on, on the leaves.

Just cut all those leaves with amber off. Problem solved.
