I added 55ml of 29% h202 to the rez about 3 hours ago after I drained half the rez and re-filled and ph'ed.

also, im pretty sure my lids are letting light leak in to the rez. Think Im going to have to jump on using the cooler lids as the actual lids for the DWC setup.

I've come up with a different idea for the lids, I mentioned it somewhere, may have been here I dunno, lifes a blur.

So what's the idea? Did you forget to mention it? Ha.

OB (gyn)....brown slim is bad, Great White will help, it depends on how bad it is. I always use it and never had slime again. Roots have always been white since. Light leaks help the slim grow so fix it asap. I've never had to use h2o2, and hope I won't have to.

well, I thought I already had mentioned it but I dunno where it was. I just don't like the tape idea, it must obviously work but I still just don't like it. My idea involves the same foamboard most of you use (although I think plywood would work just fine) . Home depot sells this thin plastic sheet( I think Its 1/8 inch and about 20 bux for a 4 by 8 sheet. so my idea involves laminating either simple plywood and or styrofoam. I found after cutting holes in the lids that I may want to change the configuration of the tops(like maybe I need mutliple size holes). I haven't tried this yet because ....well because I cut h oles in the lids of my coolers. Ray plants love h202 , hell I use it regularly ( I try to maintain a sterile res even though my temps are fine.

Im over using foam board. it does NOT seal against my coolers for some reason, probably because of how the hoses are sticking in the cooler. If I poped holes in the lid and put them in it would be better though...might just do that for now until I cut up the lids. I need to find a 6" hole saw bit first. Not going to hack job them!

Also, I keep thinking about doing a RDWC setup with these coolers. But the whole system confuses me. I have no idea how to "link" them together. I would use the 100qt coolers how they are now, then use the 150qt cooler for the external rez. Anyone have some suggestions on this?

I was also thinking about adding spray nozels inside the rez to setup a aero type system as well.

you should pick up a couple uni-bits while you're there too, 20 bux for a pair. 60 at homo depot.

Man I've been all over this kind of system and really gave up, I bought a jbj ato to pump water from the from cooler to cooler, then it relied on gravity
somewhere along the line, I scrapped it and did something else. But for you a ebb controller bucket would do the trick I think.

I couldn't find a 6" at harbor freight, they do have a kit up to 5" that I use however the quality is cheep and wobbles.

come to think of it you're right, I did cut 5 inch holes and used 6 inch pots, which worked pretty good really. now my standard is 3 inch.

oh hell no harbor freight for hole saws on the cheap.
Might have to head there this morning!

Ill have to check into the other net pots. i have a spare so ill test it out first though.

I flushed out the rez's last night and re-filled. Picked up a few things yesterday. Piranha and Mother Earth Tea bloom. Hopefully the slime starts to go away. Once they wake up around 2 today Im adding some more predatory nematodes to hopefully take care of the gnats. the first round did well but had to add h202 to get rid of the slime so pretty sure it killed off most of them.

Sensizym
Voodoo Juice
Piranha
Mother Earth Tea bloom
Bud Candy
Big Bud
Sensi A+B

250,000 Predatory Nematodes per cooler. The other half of the mix will go into the dirt plants.

The roots are looking white, however there is still some slime. Hopefully this will start to go away in the next few days. If it doesnt what should I do at that point? I dont want to add h202 again and kill off everything I just put in. I keep hearing good things about Dutch Master Gold Zone, but, pretty sure this can NOT be mixed with my current nutes and what not. Anyone?

I also put holes in the current lids for the air hoses. Now when I peep into the cooler I dont see anymore light leaking in.a

So the 6" standard net pot will fit in the 5" hole???? How far down does it sit and how well does it sit in there?

you can't see those pots real well but they got this lip with holes in them that would be great to run a screw down in, to secure it in real good.
