My last concern that I have with my box is the sound... it's so loud that I can hear it from outside the room. I need the fans as well because it gets pretty fuggin hot in there...80-90(depending on the weather)

I have 2 pc fans for exhausts with passive intake. the only other fan is a little desk top 4"fan for internal air movement.

Any advice welcomed.

Use foam board insulation from home depoti uuse to use it in an camper grow it helped so much with the noise plus its super reflective and realy made my lights throw alot farther it comes in a bunch of different thicknesses 1/2 would probably work but if you could do the 1in t would be even better

It is definitely the sound of the moving air. How would you suggest ducting two pc fans?

Thanks for the help!

shit, you could tape carboard over it in such a way as to direct the sound down and muffle it and then tape egg cartons filled with cotton balls to the underside of the cardboard if you wanted to. or you could get some of that shit they put on walls of recording studios that looks like egg cartons and figure out a way.

you'll figure out a way to make a sound muffling duct.

Awesome! I was totally thinking of the cardboard idea. Hopefully I can get this all figured out. I was wanting to germ my new seeds a week ago :(

if you don't care how it looks, just glue some cotton balls to a piece of carboard and duct tape it over the exhaust vent somehow so that it doesn't block the exhaust. like a dryer vent with cotton balls on the inside.

Nope. Its the back...and I'm to the point of not giving to much of a fuck, especially when its not even visible.

Ok. So I got the sound down to a minimum and now I have an issue with heat:wall:

So with the veg/bottom portion has be staying between 85-90 and my flower/top is about the same...maybe a few degrees warmer. My room temp can get as high as 80 inbetween the ac cycles but is usually around 75.

I have two large passive intake in both sections on the left and right lowest section.

Im kinda to the point of thinking that I'm shit out of luck and just germ my seeds... i miss my closet :(

get a switching power supply thing that adjusts the volts and get more pc fans
then u can turn the volts down until there is no noise- i have had success using 3 x artcic f12 at 7v(use whatever is rated at 25dba or less and moves lots of air)
the desktop fan is prob loud too i use pc fans dimmed to about 5v and hang them from a string-they swivel a bit and are silent

I have 10 plants and 3 new seedlings I just planted yesterday and all I have is the small fan in the second picture, it works just fine but I have the same problem with noise, but oh well no one ever ask me what that noise is!

Haha no it's an old computer tower, just needed something to set my little fan on and it was already in my closet, so I just left it there!
