Allo...

Thought I would come and introduce myself after having signed up a few days ago. I'm a Georgia gal that just moved to Alaska a few weeks ago. Nice to be in a medical marijuana friendly state after spending my entire life in the great southern bible belt! I'll be working on getting my card and finding a caregiver as soon as all of the unpacking gets done. Seems a bit intimidating honestly, but I'm excited to start the process nonetheless.

After doing some reading on here it seems like most people prefer to grow their own bud, but I have never had a green thumb and have managed to kill off even the most basic of house plants. Plus, being a mother of 4 makes me a bit weary of having such things in the house. My children are quite inquisitive and play a fair amount of hide and seek in every nook and cranny...lol

Can't wait to get more active in the forums. I've been smoking for about a year and still feel like a newbie, but hopefully reading the threads will help a bit.

If your legal, all you have to do is lock the door to your grow room. Having grown up in the north (not as far as Alaska) and moved to the south, I got to say I prefer sweating to freezing. I guess if you're a Christian, you just got insulted. Sorry about that, not everyone here is a bigot.

Thank you!! I've been reading nonstop since signing up and absolutely love it. There is so much information and I'm soaking it up like a sponge over here!

Nah! Not insulted at all

I'm actually starting to come around to the idea of growing. I've been looking into a grow tent that could be set up in my walk-in closet...a room that I could closely monitor...and putting lots of boxes and things in front of it that would make in not quite so accessible for the wee ones. We'll see how it goes. Keeping my fingers crossed that it will be a good experience all around. I'm sure I'll be back with tons of questions in a month or so.

You'll be in and out of there all the time. Moving the boxes will get to be a chore, and I don't think it will keep your kids out. A lockset for a interior door is only 10-12 bucks. Grow tents require ventilation. You'll need to put holes in your walls or ceiling or door. I use a spare bedroom that has windows.
