I am about 60 days from starting my next grow, and so far, i have done squat on upgrades or changes,, hahaha, time will tell if i do anything other than just run the grow cab again the way it is, and it certainly could, it sure is nice to be between grows for a while,, can really decompress and deal with other parts of life,, but growing brings a certain joy and that need for a cool hobby, plus gesh oregon winters,, deperssing HAH ,, sitting under those cobs for 10 mintues is like a shot of summer sunshine,, so a win win,, speaking of winning,, here in Rec legal oregon clones are becoming the norm on craigslist, many many strains, from 6" to teens and ready to flower plants , heck i pic out 2 of them in thier teens and just flip the light wow, and the po po doesnt seem to be doing anything about it, i guess its part of being legal, with medical and rec running side by side its kinda hard to split the 2 and there are overlaps in the system, so until something goes wrong or someone cry's foul to the right ear,, Wife wants me to get clones again next time,, you know me and seeds,, hahahaha,,,
there is girl scout cookies and trainwreck around,, 2 strains i have wanted to grow,,
Cant decide if i want to up my watts in the cab, @Humanrob is pushing over 50 and upwards to 60 watts per square foot of cobs in his current grow, and they look very nice,,
Your grow brother do what you feel is right. I'm just experimenting with the less is more theory is all it's not for everyone. :bigjoint:

I'm calling the efficiency police! :P
Since you mentioned me, let me clarify... I have one tent over 50w/sf and one under. In my 2x4 I'm flowering with 200w (4@ 50w each) of Cree 3070's @3000k and a pair of Optic 120's @4000k which means four Vero 18's @(about) 60w each. So that totals about 440w, which is 55w/sf. Normally I've used a pair of 4000k Cree's in that set up instead of the Optics, but they were stolen, so my going that intense was not my plan, I was just using what I had. That tent usually runs at 37.5w/sf, which I think is a sweet spot for COBs. I also normally would throw in a pair of lizard lights, but since I'm running the tent hot I'm skipping those. If this grow goes well, then I'll keep running with it.

The other tent (3x3) is running four Citi 1818's running hotter, two @3500k and two @4000k (totaling 335w at the wall), and I just dropped in a single Citi 1212, 50w @3500k -- so that one is 385w which is only 42.7w/sf. Most of those watts are from the wall, so they are probably slightly lower at the COB. The Citi 1818's are on two different fixtures, one set each COB is running at about 77.5w each, the other at 90w each, so I tend to keep those further from the plants.

Actually, I keep all of my lights higher above the plants than many COB users, 20" during early veg, 16" until half way through flower, and then 14", and then if they seem to like it I'll let some of the tops get to about 12". But I watch them carefully, and at the first sign of stress (usually indicated through cal-mag depletion or something similar) I raise the lights a bit. It's working for me so far. I'm not an expert using some fine-tuned nute system, so I find that when things get out of balance my best bet is to back the lights off. I'm trying a different way of fertilizing my soil in this run, if it works, I'll share it, but for now no sense in putting it out there before I know if it works.

:)

cute dog,,, your best friend right,, goes everywhere with you,, car rides,, and more,, ya brother its going to sting something aweful, its taken a week to feel normal for me, enjoy every moment
Yep, you know exactly how it is. He'd rather spend all day waiting for me in the car running one errand after another than spend the day relaxing with all the comforts of home.

He's my best buddy and I'm his, too.

Even now he's at my feet.

Ok so onto today's update from the garden. Everyone was watered and fed today. Ionic Grow 4tsp/gallon, Ful-Power 20ml/gallon, Cal-Mag+ 5ml/gallon, and Hydro Guard 2ml/gallon. EC 1.9 and PH 6.0

I did defoliate all over where I felt necessary, especially the (2) SBA clones in the veg closet.. I also bent a bunch of tops over on various plants. I am monitoring the Auto's for the end of their stretch to then start with the bloom nutes.

All pictures were taken prior to watering and plant training/defoliation.

Here's the (2) GG#4 girls in the AutoCob tent:

Here's some shots of the Auto's under the QB with one of my Doggie Dreams seedlings:

And a closer shot of the clone of the Satori Male that I rooted straight into the coco, this guy is just unstoppable:

Fucken mess in the 4x8 but almost cleaned up I will not ever again grow plants this large without a net for support. I moved the circulating fan up higher in the 4x8 and cleaned up the doggie dreams and one of the GG#4 as well as the Blue Harley. I staked up the 3 big plants. Still need to clean up the other GG#4 then going to try and toss trellis net on each side using the stakes to hold up the plants. You will see the loli popping I did all the weak shit that would be larf was trimmed off. It's amazing how much there really was to clean up especially on the GG#4. I also physically moved the plants around to positions I felt were better for light to the plants and to give them each more space. I'm fucking spent was in there for almost 12 hours on and off. I have to take a lot of breaks when working I wear out easily due to illness.

Tomorrow's job will be to clean up the second GG#4 and start getting net up on each side. The net won't be optimal this is a fix to finish this run.

I also made the decision to take down the Hubba Bubba. I raised the COB's and hung the plants with the proper label on each hanger then shut off the lights. Since I'm not really in a hurry for the use of that tent yet I am going to dry them in there. Lights off fans on. When they're done I will clean the shit out of it and reset new pots of dirt and not re use the stuff that's in there now.

And last but not least I was able to spread out the plants in the nursery after taking out the makeshift cloner which was not a success at all lol. Three of the four little cuts will be given to the fairy and the fourth is a cut of my male that doesn't look like it will take which if that's the case there goes that boy as I culled him already because he was too big.

Looks good!
Yeah, my GG got weaved into the trellis on day one. Thank God too cuz They're OC.
read ahead a lil about getting off the meds. Good luck bro. I know it sux. Been there. No fun.
So, you're getting more auto cobs from the Smo? He text me the other day, gotta holla back at him, haven't talked in awhile. Good dude. I take it your pleased w/ the cob production. Me too!
Running another side by side next run & will prob. Put up the Pro-9 as well as a small section of Cloak & designing another prototype overhead light in Horizon. I like my LEDs, but still like my hps too.
Hope all goes well. You'll get past it.

Well it's been a minute for me. Health has been more an issue lately than it usually is. Anyways not going to get into the bs we are here for the grow. I got a few autos in one 3x3 kicking they are not big yielders so I am trying more plants than usual we will see how it goes.

IMG_20171118_032801.jpg IMG_20171118_035119.jpg

The other 3x3 is vegging my next round of photos. I have three of my second cross (Nightmare Kush) three Dark Plasma from ocean grown seeds, a Fookies @BobBitchen and one Sweet Black Angel.

IMG_20171118_032808.jpg

The big tent is off right now and I will be hanging the plants that we're in there quality is off the charts but I do not for see yield being as much as it could due to my neglect. Still gonna be a good amount of meds though.

And in a small twist of events my first back cross was a success initially anyways. I liked the Doggie Dreams cut so much I hit her with pollen from the Satori male before I killed him off and it worked. Can't wait to pop these seeds and see what she's got. The weed off of that plants is nuts.

Thanks for checking in

i always enjoy looking at some good auto's,, nice plants,,, brother you know i feel your pain, and i pray for your healing,, nice to see all those cobs hanging high,
What I'm noticing with the COB'S vs HPS is smaller frostier buds but more of them I know some of this is strain dependent but just my observations so far. My last two batches under the LEDs have been autos and my best plants so far and potency has been on another level. :)

Those denser buds end up weighing more, too.

Sorry you've been hurting, brother. Good to see you still at it.

Sorry just saw that I hadn't responded to this my bad bro. Yeah I'll be getting more COB's from Smo soon. I am very happy with the way these Citizens are working out. And the level of frost is just crazy and the last few runs it's like the quality of the LED bud just keeps getting better. The older Skywalker I thought had webs all over she's so frosty. Easily double the frost from the last time I ran her under these lights. Like I was saying before the LED buds are smaller than HPS but denser and frostier. Not sure how to explain it. Weighing out the LED bud is trippy because you don't think you have as much weight as you do.

My HPS just went off and probably won't come on again. At this location being discrete with power use is one of the top priorities and being able to scale down 50-60% on power with lights is a blessing.
