AK-47 drooping leaves

I have a Ak-47 clone that just went under a 400w HPS a week ago. It started drooping shortly after that. Yesterday the soil was very dry after watering a day or so before, so I transplanted from a plastic cup to a 5 inch pot and watered. The soil is still moist. My 400w is mounted at 24inches above the plants. My growroom is a closet with mylar covering the walls and ceiling and floor. . I have an oscillating fan and an exhaust vent with a 6 inch fan. I average about 82 in the room. I also have not gone to nutes yet, but it is in Black Gold soil.

I also have a 3 week old White Widow that is doing fine right next to it. The Widow is from seed.

HELP...

Only problem is that this started before the transplant. I transplanted as a result of this, because of how fast it was going through its moisture. Could this be heat related? I think the room might be hitting higher temps at hot point of the day.

U should pick up a thermo that tells u max temp. $6 at walmart. It also tells max humidity. They arent the most accurate, but will give u an idea of peak temps. 82 is too hot and u just said that is average. The reason that plants handle that outdoors is because the roots are protected in cooler soil and they stay around 65-75. Above 79 in the root zone causes the plant to starve for oxygen, which causes dropping. U need to figure out a way to get the temps down. Cool down the rest of the house if u have to, but u need to do something if u want healthy plants.

That was my original thought, but it was bone dry when I transplanted to the bigger pot. I have only watered once since then, a couple days ago. I think it may have been temp though, I opened the door to my closet and the temp went to 78 and it looks like the leaves are starting to come up. I just dont understand why the widow has been fine and the AK-47 wasn't. I am wondering if it has to do with the widow only being a couple inches tall where the AK is 8 inches.

Now I am unsure what I should so. I can't leave the door open because my 400w lights up the room when the closet is open, less than discrete. I have a 6in exhaust fan mounted on the ceiling, with a 6 inch oscillating fan in the room and 12 inch non oscillating fan that blows on the bottom of the closet door from the outside. I would think that would be enough to keep it cool, since the exhaust fan is a 160 cfm.

One thing I am going to try is this. Currently my setup has the flex ducting going to the ceiling and then it runs to the house vent, that is where the fan is. I am going to try moving the fan to the grow room ceiling and run the ducting from there. I did it the first way to minimize noise, but noise is a moot point if I can't keep the plants going.

Any ideas people? Do you think it might be something other than the temp being at or above 80?

PS Yes I do stick my finger in a couple inches to judge moisture.
